Go to the attached link, instructions and info, power light flashing is very odd, I have an optimate 4, power LED should only be on to confirm its plugged in, maybe worth having it checked. The operators are working from a system called AMPDS or similar, they are not trained clinicians, I find it really hard to believe that registered Paramedics would be so insensitive and unprofessional ..... if they were then those aggrieved can report them directly to their registering body for investigation, reporting mechanism is easily accessible online

I can imagine that was pretty scary. The closest I have been was about 1/2 mile behind a truck when the trailer tyre blew. It threw a cloud of dust and debris across the other two lanes and I remember thinking that if I had been alongside I could easily have been hit by a chunk of tyre - I rode through the wreckage a few seconds later and it didn't look pretty. Regarding the comment above from Fozzie - I think that buying an Audi must have given you a sympathetic view of them . I still find that Audi drivers are the most consistent offenders when it comes to poor or aggressive driving. It was a scary experience, thankfully the cars behind me were a good distance back, I was able to brake pretty damned hard and swerve into the outside lane, it was like a bomb going off, I had to stop at the next service station just to get myself back together.

I like to have a nice safety bubble on the motorway, I ride at a speed that keeps pace with the traffic, give lorries plenty of room, had a close call on the M1 in Leicestershire a few years ago, about to go past this lorry when it had a blow out, scared the shit out of me, always in the back of my mind now when i'm going round them.

I was offered a five percent discount by a local broker if the bike had an alarm and a thatcham approved security device, what did confuse me was they asked if it had an immobiliser fitted (electronic), I replied yes it comes with an immobiliser already on OEM, they wouldn't recognise the OEM immobiliser as it isn't thatcher approved, I too am beginning to think that its all just crap, will install an alarm though, more for making it less attractive to a thieving nob head

Cyclists have their own laws, lets face it, no Licence, no test, no insurance and no tax, seem to do what they want regarding compliance with road traffic law, if the road is to congested they just bump up onto the pavement, a cyclist hit my neighbours car which was parked in town, repair costs came to nearly £500, guess who had to foot the bill.....he was told he'd have to take a civil action to recoup his losses........A push bike hitting a child at 30 or 40mph is going to do a lot of damage, I'm not anti cyclist, I ride a mountain bike myself, but lets have one law that applies to everyone who uses the highway.......OK i'll put the soap box away again

Thanks guys, understand perfectly what you're saying, I see having an alarm fitted provides at least two small benefits, having one fitted can give you an insurance discount and it's just one more thing that makes the bike less attractive to some of the thieving scum bags out there, if its even at least made slightly more difficult for the bike thieving scum bag he's probably going to be more inclined to leave it alone

Thanks for the advice guys, I've been using it fully loaded since I got it, never had any problems so couldn't understand why they were making those recommendations, didn't respond to an email querying it either, I like the GIVI panniers, I only got the Yam ones because I got a good deal with the bike and to be honest they done the job as expected for me without any problems.
