  1. that link is just a riveted link, it's how they join one end to the other
  2. There may be an element of personal preference in there, Depending on whether I need to gear down to accelerate or gear down to slow down, I just pull the clutch, drop the gear and let it out again (don't even need throttle), as simple as that.
  3. Are they worth getting? I am under the impression that they will improve braking as they they hold the fluid better without expanding (as I assume the standard rubber hoses do) under compression. The prices on ebay for Goodridge ones are £56.16 and Wezmoto £59.99 + £2.95 P&P Does this seem right?
  4. I'm seriously contemplating coming along, anyone in/around/near sheffield going?
  5. Im just worried about routes, I don't know my way and don't have a satnav. Anyone from S.Yorkshire going? might be tempted to go if there was someone to follow
  6. That would be good some time (when I have some spare time for a rideout), never knew I'm only 35 miles from the cat and fiddle! 22 miles from matlock and 30 miles from sherburn. In the middle of bike heaven really
  7. By the looks of it, you bought the same one as I did, the same happened, when breaking the chain it bent the breaking bit, when trying to fit it, it snapped the riveting bit...... I ended up using an angle grinder to cut it off and two hammers to rivet the chain together!
  8. Techno your bike sounds like the type of bike I eventually want, sporty looks but a bit more upright riding position. Do they come fully faired or do you have to buy lowers? if so, do you have to declare it to insurance etc?
  9. pmsrofl, poor girl was asking a genuine question lol
  10. I have a pair of Sidi Vertigos, comfy, waterproof, best boots I've had so far
  11. possibly a regulator problem? Anyway, this should've been posted in the pitstop section Im sure a mod will move it for you
  12. Good stuff. Maybe you should go out for a ride somewhere nice, remind yourself why you're doing this
  13. Please don't lose that determination, you can obviously ride just pass this stupid test and get it over with
  14. I recently changed my chain and sprockets Yesterday I noticed I hadn't tightened my chain enough, so I loosened the axle, pulled the wheel back and tightened it back up again with the torque wrench. On to the chain tensioners (at each side) the one on the left was fine, the right one wouldn't go in, it seemed to be cross threaded. Eventually after trying for about 20 mins the bolt got stuck in the thread.I couldn't loosen it because the head had sheared off and the allen key could get no purchase on the bolt, so I've ordered a new set of drive chain adjusters complete with bolts. What's involved in changing them over?
  15. Is he almost touching the back tyre with his shoulder there?
  16. I had just over a year of riding around on a 125 before I attempted my mod 1 . That was because of financial reasons though
  17. I did the same, would have had no faults if it weren't for the speed trap first time round. Aced it second time
  18. Oh dear, what do you do in that situation? would you have to drill out the bolt, any way to rethread the hole?
  19. The only problem I can see is your link pipe looks too good for the down pipes now , might have to fashion some
  20. Amazing, the pipe was kinked under the tank and it seems to be running normally now!, many thanks Must have neglected to check, as I had replaced the tank so many times yesterday =/ Again, much appreciated
  21. Just checked the choke and it retracts fine on all 4 carbs. I noticed there was quite a bit of petrol in the air box, I looked at the overflow pipe and there was some sort of stopper in it, I pulled it out and petrol spewed out all over the floor. Seems to run fine now . Is it normal to block an overflow pipe? doesn't make sense to me lol. After it was idling fine, I took it for a little spin around the street, it was definitely not running right, after experimenting with it, I found that it ran a lot better when I put the old air filter in it... Am I going to have to mess with the carbs just for a new bloody air filter? It's meant to be a standard paper one as well not a hi-flo (K&N) one
  22. No I've used it every day(almost) until yesterday, when I changed the plugs and filter
  23. New development: I left the bike alone with the tank on, it wouldn't start. I took the tank off, removed the air filter and there was a pool of petrol in the airbox. I then tried to start it and it spluttered in to life. So, too much fuel getting in and flooding? The vacuum tap on the fuel tank doesn't let petrol out when not on prime so it's not that. Any thoughts?
