ALDI bike gear- feel the savings!
sparkeh9 replied to Rod York's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Yes they are , but dont take it personally -
I'd invest in a fuel filter
-
On mine the reserve and main tank are the same physically, with the main tank feeding off fuel at a higher point than the reserve, the reserve then feeding off at the bottom
-
lmao I've done that before, except I was travelling at 60 on a fast moving carriageway with cars behind me, it stuttered and I realised I had run out of petrol, so had to switch to reserve while still moving o_0

I don't know of anything you could do at the roadside, how deep was the water? could it have gotten into your carbs(if it has them) or entered the exhaust?

I don't have a car myself as I don't have a car license yet but my GF drives a 60 plate Ford Ka zetec, just a sensible little car. -
Ive knocked it into neutral while cornering before, doesn't happen anymore as Im more definite with the change. Sometimes I cant get it into neutral from 1st gear, so I roll back and accelerate forwards, this often lets me put it into neutral.

you mean slalom? -
I think that's pretty much the procedure, I've found that I haven't needed to open the throttle, unless it's cold
-
probably any tailors or general clothes repair service, there are a few dotted around where I live
-
It's definitely got impact proection with the CE armour, but I dont think it looks dense enough to withstand tarmac at speed. Would be cool if it did though!

Mod 1 Test Failed!
sparkeh9 replied to dfrbrowne's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Took me 2 attempts for Mod1 (due to not getting up to speed, bit heavy for a 125 tbh), good luck for next time -

There's a Hein Gericke just up the road from that J&S on Doncaster -

I wear an IXS 2 piece to work, go over my jeans and inside my boots, and zip into my jacket.
-
stunning scenery, looks like you had a great time!

My front brake on my GS125 did that, the pad was down to the metal and had started to ware the disc

Training School / Centre reviews??
sparkeh9 replied to Debs's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
What a tool, obviously making assumptions based on your gender, which is completely unfair. You're going to get mixed reviews on any school imo, I can't comment on the NW schools as Im not from there -
When I turn on my engine in a morning, I turn the choke on full then start, if I touch the throttle much past 1/8 of a turn it will cut out. Maybe there's just too much cold air for the engine to sustain it's self when you touch the throttle?
-
Maybe your sprocket is worn and keeps jumping off then banging the casing or something?
-
This is purely an opinion, Im not a mechanic in any way shape or form, so don't take this as fact. A carburettor simply atomises fuel and mixes it with air to get a mixture suitable for cumbustion, I can't see how using a carb from the same capacity bike would not work (if setup properly), except of course how it attaches to the bike and delivers the mixture to the cylinders
-
In that case, is it economically viable to keep that bike? You might be forced to sell it for someone to fix or break... Unless you can do it yourself and source a second hand one
