  1. Quick straightforward job then
  2. Sorry can't advice for london. When I last had test rides I went to a few places got a feel for how good/bad the dealers were then. The good ones I found also didn't mind you going away to think about it. Some tried the pressure sales saying the deal would be gone next week etc!
  3. Always good for the op on these posts hmto hear from someone who has one or rode one
  4. Yes I've heard horror stories but none from anyone I know. I played it safe and put the stabiliser in on advice of dealer and independent mechanic. It's good to press the start button after so long and it just fires up
  5. Finally took the bike out today 1st time since September. Felt as if I'd not been off it, started no issues and fuel stabiliser kept the e10 fresh. Only a short trip to a work Venue to check it out for parking and changing facilities as I'm on a course there next week and car parking a no no, trains and tram too much of a faff. I just need to remember to wear some baselayer leggings as the boots rubbed my scar on my leg. Was concerned the AT would be too heavy for me after my op but gladly it's all good. Only downside was my 1st ride was in the dark and to West Brom hardly scenic. Got to try the Denali mini horn to remind a taxi driver I was there and it is a great investment it was effective!
  6. Excitement is subjective and a lot of it in my view comes down to the roads you ride and how you ride them. Get to know the bike you ride and you will begin to ride it better and find its sweet spot. Worst case enjoy it for a year maintain it and care for it and sell it for pretty much no depreciation and move on. You may want a bigger bike in a year or so anyway. I think it will be just fine as a beginner bike.
  7. Rest does look good and has all the bells and whistles and well cared for
  8. Our hospital is the same you have to press the buzzer on the gate and the security guy let's you out . Now they have extended the hospital and there is no motorbike parking!
  9. I wouldn't worry about the miles it's more about keeping it well maintained. 24k is fine until recently I was doing 10k a year on my bike. Just look after it and if buying used check it all looks good and has a service history. Looking good on ebay you can see some great used bikes that have clearly been well looked after with receipts etc and some the polar opposite
  10. 2nd that point noise was horrendous the mra vario made it bareable one thing I don't miss is the noise
  11. Yep I warm it up too even I. The paint sprayer it flows better. Bennetts bike social dodgy a recent test of rust inhibitors pieman uses xcp which I think it the best stuff now but I have a large bottle of acf I'll swap over after that's all gone. I do have some techcote acs in an aerosol to top up that gets a good rating too and is less messy but needs more applications
  12. Here's the cheaper ones I bought https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331892381446?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=y_rAqIWsTU2&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=ZPITfT4aSPa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  13. Try a flairosol for applications of ACF. I use a paint sprayer for a good coating in the autumn then use a flairosol for top up coats comes out like a mist better than the actual pump bottles acf supply and like a standard aerosol. You can get cheaper generic flairosols on ebay etc https://www.flairosol.com/?msclkid=de2830f2197411bd65da532de01981d5
  14. Dean, it has a great engine which will make you smile!
  15. Thats what happened to me thankfully I got to see my current bike with panniers fitted so I knew they would be big enough. Some panniers look huge until you open them up
  16. Kawasaki er6 or older versys 650 mat be worth a look too get your skills up for a season and your premiums down then maybe upgrade that way you don't break the bank in year 1. You won't really lose anything on a decent used cared for bike when you sell it
  17. The tracer 7 is basically the same engine as the mt07 you rode on I dunno if you can get a used one for 3k maybe consider an nc750x should get one for about that price and is frugal on fuel and should be insurable for a newbie
  18. It's Saturday so I've picked a couple of nice bottles of beer from one of my favourite breweries. Wife has opted for a mango cider! I don't drink much so I'll enjoy these
  19. Yes 2nd episode he's let the team walk all over him
  20. The Apprentice was amusing last night, they had to market a new e motorcycle which happened to be the Maeving. They couldn't have got it any more wrong
  21. Yes and it was the single sided swing arm version in red white and blue still looks mean today !
  22. Wild Atlantic way in Ireland is famed for v little light pollution great sky's at night out by the Skellig ring
  23. Looks like a decent bit of kit. Something I've had an interest in but little time to get into it. I have a friend who is into it and has bought some attachment so he can link his camera up to it and take pics
  24. I nearly purchased a vfr400 many years ago loved the look of it but was young and money was tight great bikes those 90s 400s
