1. buy a narrower handle bar set up buy a narrower bike widen the doorway of shed knock the shed down and build a proper storage facility
2. Anticipation is the key to good safe riding, and driving for that matter. This is one of the main reasons I did the IAM course in the car 16 years ago and on the bike this year.
3. Hello and welcome. As above
4. if you are tested on a 600cc bike why are you doing A1 licence. That is limited to 125cc.
5. Or better still just ask them to contact DVLA for confirmation. But hopefully your new licence will be with you shortly and resolve the lack of licence issue.
6. I have ABS and TC on the Tiger. Neither been activated in the last 18 months of ownership.
7. Depends on all sorts of factors but if you ride at the limit oil on the road will cause you problems. Traction control could help but not guaranteed. You need to ride to the conditions not the features on your bike.
8. All jackets and trousers specifically for motorcycles must have a minimum of CE approved protection. This can be supplemented with additional or better protection. Have a look at J&S or sports bike shop web sites.
9. No technology can overcome the laws of physics but traction control can help to mitigate the unexpected a little. In slippery weather/conditions you need to be extra careful and avoid sharp inputs into the bike, whether throttle, brake or steering. Also get to know the bike really well before taking it to any limits.
10. You will have given permission for them to keep the credit card data for renewals. It will be buried in microscopic print in the T&Cs somewhere.
11. Hi Laura do you have a male friend who is knowledgeable about bikes, or at least mechanically minded, that could go to the garage with you. I know in this day and age equality and all that; but it really does seem that the dealer is taking advantage of your lack of knowledge and inexperience. PS: just read your first post again. Would the school where you did your CBT be able to help you with the dealer.
12. Do you mean flu? Rather than a chimney
13. Well done Seidinger1986 onwards and upwards
14. Milk it for all its worth.
15. congratulations on the bike and commiserations on the injury. I hope the two aren't connected. If you are not riding it for 6 weeks and don't have a garage I'd be inclined to remove the battery and periodically charge it with something like one of these: https://www.optimate.co.uk/products/optimate-2 But check what battery they have installed first to get the right charger. It is well worth having a charger anyway.
16. well done Joebaxi Now the learning really starts
17. Oh dear. Sorry to see that.
18. perhaps he's a rally driver
19. Or for more accuracy a better approximate is 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197
20. Pi is actually 3.14 etc
21. This happens all the time. Shop around every year. Same with bike insurance as well. Oh and house insurance
22. Have you considered contact lenses? I changed from spectacules because they kept misting up and blocking my peripheral vision. Best thing I ever did transformed my riding.
23. Hello. It's called a thingymy and they are available on eBay.
24. well done JesterPilgrim enjoy your new bike. Take it easy on the winter roads.
