  1. On the multistrada the only time I use 6th gear is on a motorway.
  2. Shipping companies are looking into methanol as fuel and my own outfit have just taken delivery of 2 tankers designed to carry methanol in bulk and using it as fuel themselves. Not sure where the methanol is coming from though.
  3. My mate has a DCT Goldwing and it cost a bloody mint. More than I'd pay but he's a bit daft that way! He's also 5'6" and weighs about 11 stone soaking wet. He loves the bike and wafts around like it's some kind of limo.
  4. I've got a Givi tank bag with quick release ring fitted and it works well. Use it quite a lot and never had an issue.
  5. If you've an A licence you won't need to do a CBT but I really, really think it would be a good idea to do a refresher day or two first. If you've not been on a bike for many years you'll find modern bikes are a quite a bit different! That said if you are limiting yourself to a 300 cc bike you shouldn't get into too much mischief.
  6. Oil contaminated cotton rags / waste is a well known fire source. Supposed to be stored in air tight metal containers for legal disposal, usually incineration.
  7. Don't hold anything back Fastbob!
  8. I did nothing but my son in law did the brake pistons fortunately. According to him there was grass in there which i find hard to understand!
  9. Good morning from sunny Singapore. I get to live the high life me......not.
  10. Just as well you didn't have an off or insurance would've been rubbing their hands with glee.
  11. Must be figuratively rather than actually?
  12. A lot of stuff sold sugar free has the artificial stuff in it which I find utterly vile and funnily enough excessively sweet. Fortunately I can tolerate UHT milk as otherwise I'd be milkless for months on end although I only have it in tea or porridge.
  13. It could be. Just having a generally shit day so easily provoked.
  14. Although Ukraine is no laughing matter this raised a smile.
  15. Not often I can get excited by tools but having googled them I now have a serious case of tool envy. Nice looking kit.
  16. I ride a multistrada and nod to anyone including scooterists. So I get a tad pissed off getting pigeonholed.
  17. Ah so. At least it's not Chinese.
  18. Have to ask - who or what is Claudia?
  19. I've also moved on qhwn asked to remove my helmet. Funnily enough during Covid times I was never asked to and before that the only place was a Tesco in Bristol. My local Tesco never did. I wear a flip lid these days and do tend to lift the front.
  20. The only guy I know who wears Klim kit rides a KTM.
  21. Ditto. I wear a flip lid and usually never been asked to take it off. Once was asked and yes it does annoy me as it presumes just because I ride a bike I'm more likely to be a scallywag.
  22. I believe biggest Klim retailer in the UK is Motolegends in Guildford. They have a price match guarantee and provide very good service. Klim is pricey stuff though. 2k for a suit.
  23. Presumably guys who use their vans for work are going to have to increase their prices as you can hardly expect people to swallow those kinds of costs without passing it on. Something else to blame Vlad the Mad & Bad for!
  24. There was a bizarre if sad report from an interview with the mother of a guy who's missing. She finished with a comment along the lines of " Who'd expect anything like this in peace time?" These poor saps don't actually believe they are locked into a war which doesn't look as if its going to be over any time soon. Quite what they think is going on I've no idea.
  25. My work mobile is an iPhone 8 and I can't say I like it much. Probably partly cos it's got an armored case which makes it less responsive to touch than I'd like. Still it let's me keep in contact with owners relatively easily.
