In the few times I've been to London I've used the tube to get from A to B and there has been no drama's EDIT: The site won't load if i copy & paste the link, but from what I can see there are works to the underground and the best option is getting bus which takes 40 mins. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/

I haven't read all of the replies, but you should report these people to the DSA. Either that or at least talk the owner of the schools about the individual instructors. You can't let them get away with this terrible behaviour. I hope everthing turns out good for you in the end. Good luck.

How tall are you and what is your chest and waist size? I have a Joe Rocket Speedmaster 5 in Red and black for sale. It's a size 40" and will fit someone up to 32" waist and between 5'4" & 5'8/9" EDIT: The reason they stipulate leather is because leather will slide and textiles don't. Just noticed, that is the 1 piece in my avatar.

I used to use them when I rode. They were fantastic! I found them very comfy and they wash very easily in luke warm soapy water. You don't feel like you are in a gold fish bowl and cut off from from what going on around you. I only have praise for them. In fact I've still got them knocking somewhere around the house. A good investment as they will last you ages if you look after them.
