  3. I was in the same situation, when my first service was due had about 60 miles on her, it was 4 months later when Xena went in with 266 miles done, just depends on how strict they are with the terms of your service agreement, i'm not bothered now as the other services will be done by myself except for a major service just before the MOT is due
  4. Fair enough
  5. Instead of doing pillion, why not be a guide for small groups, organise trips provide them with intercoms and give them a tour, research the places and tell them about the history and anything else interesting about the places you visit
  6. Why not get an A2 compliant bike instead, save a whole load of hassle getting it restricted, and when you get your licence you will get to test ride them http://a2bikes.co.uk/
  7. There's a saying in the theatre world, bad rehearsal good performance break a leg
  8. This is where i would have no issue with car thieves and joy riders ( as long as they are sensible), taking illegally/inconsiderate drivers cars/ parked vehicles
  9. Better still turn them into this https://phys.org/news/2018-11-bio-jet-fuels-good-climate.html
  10. Sometimes name and shame is the best course of action after companies fail to rectify an issue in a reasonable timescale
  11. I sent them an email last night, got a reply this morning saying to go down and meet them, only a small group 35 members, this one is also £12 to join, but you do get affiliated with BMF and MAG which could be a bonus as some insurance companies offer extra discount for being a club member Bikesure give a discount for being a member of this forum. I joined a few forums to see if i could squeeze anymore discount from them

  13. All depends on the bike you ride and the riding position, you may find bar end mirrors would suit but you would probably need to find someone with a bike with them on to see if they would suit,
  14. depending on the style of mirrors you have, you could change them for taller, wider or bar end ones
  15. The next meet for my local club is this Monday, I might be able to pop down for an hour and see what the form is like
  16. Just be careful, there seems to be some confusion of the legality on mirrored visors, keep a clear one with you just in case you get pulled
  17. Was thinking doing similar but on the helmet and vinyl wrapping it in a metallic copper/bronze
  18. I found this directory of clubs/groups might be of use to some looking for a club to join http://www.thebikerguide.co.uk/motorcycleclublinks.html
  19. I have been toying with the idea of joining a local motorcycle group, they meet up a couple of times a month at a local pub, but not very practical in my current situation, but they do have regular ride outs and hold a whole load of events throughout the year, has anyone been a member or still are of any groups that could share their experience with them, it may also be useful for new riders to join a group and gain some knowledge and build up a network of friends to ride with
  20. Insurance is generally governed by statistics, and if you look at the stats a 125cc motorcyle is at greater risk of being stolen than a larger cc one, people tend to cherish the larger bikes and give them better security, 125's are on the whole a stop gap and not usually as cherished, therefore security is at best basic and quite easily bypassed, therefore premiums are higher, and highest of all in the crime hotspots, London being the major one, but most cities will have a high percentage of bike related thefts compared to minor villages out in the sticks, but until as such time as these thieving scum are sentenced appropriately and made to pay properly, it will only continue to get worse
  21. That's a fairly gross breakfast! Not so different from a typical english breakfast of cold left over vindaloo from a night out you can't remember
  22. A man hires a hitman to bump off his wife, when he meets the hitman to pay him, the hitman says " it will only take one bullet just below the left nipple" the bloke cries out " No! i want her dead not flamin' kneecapping"
