1. I could see that contaminating the visor and pinlock. Or have you tried it? Oh no, I was joking.
2. Struggling to get my head around iMovie. Will do something when I can.
3. Monday was my first journey on the big bike with the temperature below 0 it was ace
4. I work with adults who have experienced trauma a long time ago. Some people do the best they can and think there is no point in saying anything. Times change. I seriously doubt anyone on here me included is in a position to judge any of the details of the case.
5. I have a pair of these: https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/276099?r=GS&gclid=Cj0KCQiAz53vBRCpARIsAPPsz8WDEfCMOqgAjWPaP80vEy7cRhLntjV1sPRE6uXkQy8vkmwSWY96WckaAg55EALw_wcB that I bought second hand for about 40 pounds. Only been using them for about 4 months but they are doing the job just fine and I have covered about 3.5k miles in that time. Kept me dry and because I got a slightly bigger size and have big socks kept me warm too.
6. I don’t really get out for rides for pleasure and in my case it is about time away from my family if I do and my kids are little. I bloomin love commuting on my bike though. Really enjoy it.
7. If I posted in enthusiasm and was met with derision I don’t think I would come back.
8. welcome, is this your first foray into biking? Not sure about what you could do, I think staying on top of servicing is the best bet.
9. Is it you Justarn that has the street fighter that was for sale but you have kept it? That looks like a beautiful bike. I can understand loving that.
10. Yes an emotional fit. I don’t think I would have the emotional fit if it did not seem to fit me in more boring ways like achieving its purpose and being comfy. There is something about this collection of metal, rubber, plastic and whatever else that I bloomin’ love.
11. Today was the first time I have ridden my bike properly since I was hit on it about 5 weeks ago, I did do about a mile on Saturday to see that she was okay to ride after fastbob and I sorted out her steering. I've been in the office about an hour and a quarter and I have gotten up 4 times just to look out the window at my wonderful bike. I was a bit nervous on her on the ride this morning but more about conditions and having not ridden her for a while. Is it possible for a bike to 'fit' you perfectly? Do any of you find your bike fits brilliantly?
12. Two days in the trot I can post on here. Fantastic. I refitted my top box/back box rack. And the box. Back to riding my bike to work tomorrow. I hope it feels good on the ride
13. In terms of looks I really prefer the looks of the nineties sports and sports tourers. Once they lost the boxiness and before everything became half naked and angular. My first ever ride was a pillion on a zxr400 in about 1993. I nearly bought one as my first big bike but then fell I love with the one I bought.
14. fastbob was a super gent and helped me with my bike. I have my zzr600 back and the steering was way off. I had already tried undoing the lower yoke and bouncing up and down in the forks without success. I tried twisting one end on way and the other the other without success. Today we undid more bolts, the bracket holding the front mud guard on, the top and bottom yoke, at one point also the clamps at the bottom of the forks holding the spindle in place and the big nut in the middle of the handle bars (head?). We kept getting to the stage that we (well mostly Fastbob) could tight the wheel and the steering but tightening everything up would put it out of line again. Currently it is slightly out of alignment but I think rideable.
15. Zzr600d.1990 bought in August this year after passing my DAS and written off three weeks later by a wally car driver. With help hoping to fix her soon. She’s lovely.
16. Thanks both, I think the difficulty comes from my helmet being a proper cheap job. I'll look into that putty stuff and just do the bst I can
17. Hi gang. After my experience with insurance etc I decided to buy a ghost drift camera to record my experiences in case of bad experiences and wanting evidence. I may also enjoy making videos who knows. I have a modular helmet (I think that is what flip up helmets are called. I’m struggling to work out where to put it on the helmet. The only place I find it easy to place so there is no helmet in shot is on top of the lid but then I have to put the camera on after the lid is on because I put my lid on with the flip up. That is why I bought it. Plus I never see cameras on the top of other helmets is there a reason why?
18. Add on question. Are some flip helmets rated for safety when open as well as closed?
19. I think I may have my perfect bike then, when I get it back next week if I can mend it. My zzr will give me 50-60 and can be bloody fun if I want. To have best of both worlds need two bikes. My 125 for 90mpg and my zzr for everything else
20. I have brought them back! Can't remember if they are in the same position though Thanks, makes a big difference to the experience of using the forum.
