Diesel doesn`t automatically spell economical. I booted the hire car I am using at the moment up to 145 on my private test track and saw the mpg dip to 17mpg lol. In fairness on my 85 odd mile each way commute its nearly 39mpg which I am quite impressed with. Cheers Ian

Totally agree with @Richzx6r it is best to learn your limitations (Electrics are a good example) the money saved on the things you can do could well cover the things you cant. I recently had a garage quote stupid time/money for changing break pads on a Mazda MX5 which I did myself on the drive in less than an hour and found the calipers on the car easier than any of the ones on my bikes but the experience gained over the years meant I wasn`t at all worried just got on with it. If you have the plug caps off you might as well give them and the areas around the plugs a spray of WD40 as its a moisture dispersant it may help. Also worth wiping down the outside of the plug caps as current can track along the outside as well (ask any of the RD riders we used to torment back in the day by shading the plug caps with a carpenters pencil and watching the arcing when they left the pub and started up lol) Cheers Ian

Is it not a function of mass and momentum ? i.e a heavy bike at a given speed will have more of an effect on said wall then a lighter one. Either way attempts to prove or disprove this will probably result in an acquired familiarity with hospital food. Cheers Ian

Remember these things from back in the 70`s and 80`s when my parents had them because Dad got up at stooped o`clock to go into Covent Garden Market. Always very noisy and slowly deteriorate. I think the most reliable ones were made by a firm called Goblin (Stop laughing at the back) Don't know if they are still around, why don`t you just get another butler or tell local gym not to admit any of your family without evidence of tea serving prior to arrival.
