1. If that's correct then definitely out and about on the bike. Cheers Ian
2. Nice! Now the trick it to wear the tyres down to the ply before you hand it back. Trust me they are going to be arguing so much over the costs on my car I will be able to do that ! My daily commute is 85 miles each way and I am definately going to see my dad down in Dorset on Saturday !! Cheers Ian
3. Don"t be gentle, it's a rental. One of the best things about the recall on my BMW the other week was the courtesy car - reasonable spec and they paid the fuel. You lot are going to love this !!!!!! Other party admitted complete liability and hire company have delivered a 8000 mile Mercedes S350 AMG Premium Line for my delectation and pleasure Having spent a stupid few minutes playing with the 64 different internal ambient light choices I went towards work at 0515 this morning. I can only say "WHAT A HOOOOOOOOOOT !!!!!" Hee Hee. Love it and so easy to stay within the law ! I wish I could afford one. Cheers Ian
4. Hi Mickly seeing you taking the chain off reminded me of something that can go wrong with those spring clips. Please make sure when you reassemble that the grooves are clean and the clips seat well. It is the same system as kawasaki and the photo below shows what happens when one goes awol and vibration affects the nut. Before anyone says anything the axle was very well torqued up but vibration is a very powerful thing. This was very much a brown trouser moment as it happened at 80 whilst overtaking a guy on a BMW and felt for all the world like a blowout. Result slight bend in swingarm and a lot of faffing about replacing. By the way the allen key is being used in the roadside bodge to get me home lol not left in there. Hope thats of help. Cheers Ian
5. I work in construction management and can 100% back up the remarks made by husoi Construction sites are regularly held to account by councils and highway inspectors. Only in the last few months I was responsible for the road outside a site in rural Bucks where every time we put a road sweeper down it the ruddy farmers would track past and undo everything we had done and I was lumbered with the parish and district councils insisting we swept the road again ! Cheers Ian
6. I am with Bender can`t stand "Facefook" won`t have anything to do with it. Cheers Ian
7. As TimR has said you will be amazed how much difference a good reflector or clean bulb will make. Also if you are riding a lot at this time of year it is worth getting someone with a mop to polish your lens as salt and corruption scour the surface more than you might believe. Cheers Ian
8. Over a Grand £300 at the most... thats insurance companies for you. No I am afraid thats a local body shop quote and takes in to account that the new rear light is £198 and thats from Germ and Swede rather than Merc. Still not my prob and if there is damage to the air suspension I suspect it will be a write off. However I reserve the right to rag the t*ts off any hire car they give me. Cheers Ian
9. So following the disappointment of having my car damaged I took it to a bodyshop to find out roughly what we are looking at in money and time. That little lot comes to well over a grand plus a car is going to be needed for at least a week !!!!! All presuming there is no hidden damage which I am unsure of. So feeling depressed we decided to visit the graffiti wall that Mawsley has posted in the past. Lovely afternoon trundle and feel a bit less stressed now. Got home and the insurance company for the other party is doing the lot and hiring an equivalent car which could be a Merc, Beemer or Range Rover. I am looking forward to this lol. Cheers Ian
10. I sympathise mate I have had a weird week. Tuesday lost wallet and only discovered after putting £80 worth of diesel in the car so cancelled all cards told work to supply new fuel card and tried to sort driving licence out unsuccessfully. Wednesday interview for new job seemed to go well so getting better, then today some stoopid tw*t drove into the side of my parked car then had the cheek to get her husband to call me and suggest we can sort it out with cash privately (prat doesn`t know how much repairs to Mercs are and how much a hire car will be while its being done). So if weather favourable I will be taking a ride even if I don`t stop or interact with anyone I just need to decompress ! Cheers Ian
11. I have to admit I split my time between 3 totally different bikes (ZRX1200R, 2005 Hayabusa, Harley superglide) and I have to admit I get less response when on the Hardley. Also for what its worth the "adventure" type bikes seem less likely to nod regardless of what bike I am on, thats probably because they know me lol. As has been said before so what be happy and have fun (unless it`s Chinese lol). Cheers Ian
12. The World is truly on it's head when Harley Davidson are making Adventure Bikes and BMW are making choppers . Totally agree Bob but that engine fascinates me a mountain of torque and so ruddy heavy. Also apart from the munch and a full dress Aspencade I can`t think of many things with a revers gear lol. Cheers Ian
13. Really cool bike and I think you will have a lot of fun. Don't suppose you got to have a good look over the 1800 in the background? If so what was your impression. Cheers Ian
14. I still think he was probably the last person with honest intentions to enter that place ! Cheers Ian
15. Is that pets or fireworks? Both are consumers of money and time and loved by some, loathed by others ! Cheers Ian
16. Don`t be greedy you can`t eat that many in one go ! Cheers Ian
17. Cracking find ! LMAO Cheers Ian
18. +1 for the Hilux. I have owned 2 Navara`s and loved them both (couldn't afford the Hilux lol) then one Mits L200 and hated it especially being told by specialist garage when I queried gearbox fault changing from 4th to 5th "they all do that!" then had a leaf spring break and similar response from suspension supplier, so I find it hard to recommend the Mits I am afraid. Cheers Ian
19. Hi XTreme those weight retaining bolts can be a pain. I have had some success with connecting a thin tube to the WD40 outlet and going in from the other side if your handlebars are one piece. Hope that helps. Cheers Ian
20. But not a sausage sandwich or rain cloud anywhere in sight ! Cheers Ian
21. Tentatively thinking of heading to the Sausage cafe on the A5 in the morning as it is supposed to be dry. Mind you at this time of year I find it even harder to trust forecasts lol. Off on Monday but weather supposed to be crap ! Cheers Ian
22. That looks interesting thanks for sharing ! Cheers Ian
23. Certainly more expensive and heavier not too sure about the more powerful bit lol. Cheers Ian I lookback on my earlier comment and have to smile in view of the Superglide sat outside lol. Cheers Ian
24. Which probably explains why you fit in so well ! Cheers Ian
25. My wife was not entirely happy with the outcome. Mississippi Bullfrog you sir are a master of understatement ! I somehow think that would have been hilarious to watch. Cheers Ian
