1. One more name to be added to the subs list
2. Strong wind, cold and very likely to be raining during the weekend up here so will be finishing the metal clamps I've been doing then will be making a desk from the decking boards I have laying in the garage.
3. What do you use for your navigation? - On short trips I use waze on the phone, touring I am planning to get a dedicated sat-nav How often do you use this? Always Do you believe this is an issue or could be improved? Not really No accidents
4. If Steel then you really want to have proper rust protection. clear coat is a thin layer that will only look shiny and will do buggerall to prevent rust. Al on the other hand still does corrode by reaction to acid and alkaline solutions (the white powder we see on Al mostly near the sea) so it will also need some protection before the clear coating
5. Before going harshly on Bridgestone tyres we need to keep in mind that the BT023 & 021 are older models and the newer BT046 seem to be far better and having solved that problem. Personally, I have Michelins on the ST1300 but won't have a problem going back to the BT's
6. Well. Al is the element symbol Ali could also mean Aliexpress or 1000 other names Hopefully you didn't remove the anodisation coating that prevents aluminium from corroding. Clear coat will adhere to bare metal but you should give it a pass of 400 grit (or lower) sandpaper to help with adherence because there is no chemical bonding between metal and varnish (clear).
7. In the future we all going to have chips and will be able to connect everywhere to everyone by just thinking about it
8. Forgot to mention, long straight riding or light leaning on bends (as result of low speed) can have the same result.
9. It doesn't hurt to try but I would think Bridgestone will decline any responsibility. I had a similar problem years ago when I got my Africa twin and the thread blocks would wear unevenly, almost every other one would be higher. There are a wide range of factors and yes your riding style will affect it. 3k on a BT023 seems just under what you would expect on a front tyre on a more sporty riding style. That also happens on stronger and frequent braking.
10. A guy has them at work and he says they are spot on Have you had any success with getting these fitted? I can't get the socket to fit. Cheers Depending on your bike you maybe need to cut off the metal tabs to fit it properly.
11. I'm always a bit weary when electronics are involved... Anything that will use a transmitter and a receiver can have this result. https://jalopnik.com/thieves-steal-a-car-in-20-seconds-by-remotely-cloning-t-1826451687
12. What's a bike if not a big gadget holder? One thing you need to consider is the size of the bike. In my case, having a heavy beast I don't see the need to have heavy duty security. Another consideration is where is the bike usually kept, being on the Scottish countryside I will hardly need anything heavier than a twig to keep it safe. The busiest this street gets are thursdays when the bin lorry comes around or some muppet gets lost As dynax says, all well and good when electronics work, things will rapidly go pear shape as soon they fail and you get stuck with a locked bike away from home. I can't imagine myself in southern Italy or any other country having to justify to an italian/local why I need him to disable my security devices.
13. Looking at the dog's side of the story. If you were closer I would offer to get him/her under control. This is a fairly easy thing to deal with. Dog's are susceptible to get noisy for many reasons but essentially fear is the most common playing card. If a dog doesn't have a "sense of pack" they will start responding to other dogs barking, because of their acute hearing you won't be able to hear the same distant noises as the dog. Not knowing more about the dog and its environment I won't be able to advice
14. Just to clarify.. You didn't get that posted, did you? more like shoved into your letter box.
15. Go to B&Q get a few orange earplug bags and give a few to each household Some people have too much time on their hands... On the other hand, you can complain to the police because someone is writing you anonymous letters. I would be surprised if that is a legal move.
16. Good morning guys Why are some helmets more expensive..
17. I wish they all worked to the same standard. A construction site at a school along the road from where we used to live plastered the road with mud. I complained that the road was dangerous and to be fair they then cleaned it up, but it had been like that for weeks beforehand. Shortly afterwards my wife slipped and fell on mud on the pavement outside their entrance and injured her arm. It took over a year of treatment before it healed, during which she couldn't drive or play any sport. At that stage the firm concerned, BAM, denied all responsibility for the mess they had created. That's a reportable H&S accident. If BAM didn't took responsibility you should contact H&S office and complain about it.

19. Good morning troops. Would this means that the whisky made in here is supposed to be consumed while laying down? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-54840305
20. Note that a 4X4 parked on pedestrians sidewalk is not considered off-road... Those are commonly known as Chelsea tractors
21. Wee correction. In construction industry it is already legally required to provide wheel wash facilities for HGV traffic leaving sites. The penalties can amount to the 1,000's and it is not rare these to me applied. True that farming traffic can travel between fields, crossing roads or travelling several miles on tarmac roads without any legal imposition to have the wheels clean before entering a public road.
