  1. I would say that is one of the variables that strongly depends on each individual. I'm still considering getting the gloves but definitely would need a spare set of batteries because my trips are usually over 250 miles and a whole day journey. For what I've seen the battery would last around 3 to 6 hours (depending on setting) so if your trip is over that you either need to allow charging or a replacement battery.
  2. I still believe that a "best routes" map would be a good feature. Although this could be one of "non phenomenal" ideas
  3. I'm not sure I would trust the balance of the bike on rollers under the rear wheel and just the side stand to hold it.
  4. Nice one. What distance was covered in the tests? I mean, was it for short commute type trip or for a more touring style one day long trip?
  5. I've used earphones for a couple years mostly for satnav instructions but frequently they would come out and either I would have to stop to place them again or just give up. A few years ago, before the intercoms, I bought a pair of headphones and adapt them to the helmet. A bit of foam cutting and passing the cable to the back of the helmet and it worked very well. The main issue was some times I would forget to unplug and would stress the cable. Then I added a plug nearer the helmet but that didn't work as I thought, the wind would make it bounce to the helmet and would heave a woodpecker in my head as soon I would get to 40mph. The intercoms solved the problem completely. Bluetooth connection stopped the cables issues and a touch of a button connects to any of my gadgets. I used to ride with a group where one of them had bespoke plugs with incorporated earphones and he always loved it. Downside is that they need replaced after a couple years max, depending on how many rides you do a year. At the time it would cost him £150 the pair. I've seen several diy clips and everyone say that costs as much as 1 tube of silicone and the earphones you want. With new earphones working on bluetooth you can make it work with just one cable connecting the earpieces.
  6. Very good happy morning everybody A bit sunny, moderate westerly wind, clouds in the horizon 4c outside with a max of 9.
  7. The seller took 2 days to dispatch the parcel. USPS is taking forever to take a package that will weight 150gr if that from Akron OH to Chicago airport, less than 400 miles, which in US terms is like going from Edinburgh to Glasgow. They got the package on 26/1 and only today arrived at the freaking airport. In the meanwhile. my baby is there waiting with parts all over
  8. Still waiting for the phoquing diaphragms from the Us. 1 day left for 1 month and is still In freakin' Chicago airport A sloth would have deliver it by now.
  9. Just insert the quote then delete the whole thing. Same when you start a reply and then move away, if you're back the forum will keep your text. Then if you don't want to post any longer you have to delete your text.

    Carb repair kits

I've learned the hard way not to trust on cheaper stuff. Bought a repair kit for my shadow for £12 then had to order the diaphragms from the US for £60 because the ones in the kit was crap. Still managed to salvage some of the parts of the kit so wasn't all a waste of time. Make sure the parts in the kit will all fit the bike, most of those kits have a general purpose broad range of models.
  16. @Stu Can I suggest a sub page in the menu "Browse" for sponsors? I takes forever to go through all the adverts until the sportsbikeshop link shows up. I'm sure if I would want any of the other links that one would how up all the time

  21. I understand going to the brand dealer within warranty, even then you risk to be told "I'm sorry (not really), that's not included in the warranty..." I just go to a trustworthy wee garage, in my case Bob Scott bikes and likewise @Gerontious have him doing the hard bits. This guy is always so busy that he welcomes me doing the "cheap" stuff and only go there for advice, which is great at, or for the bits I can't do. It is a win-win situation
  22. Exactly my thoughts @Old-codger When I drove through Paris in 2019 in no way I could even think about keeping up with the other riders while lane splitting. They are mental there
