  1. Second pic is a vacuum valve. It prevents backfiring while in idle by stopping air flow to the carb when throttle is released.

  3. Good morning. Thought of cheering you guys up
  4. Rub some olive oil before placing it in the pan. Put the hob full blast for a couple minutes on both sides then lower it to medium heat. Won't burn and will be as rare as you want
  5. For trimming a door to fit properly you need a planer not a saw unless you're cutting a good chunk out of it
  6. Do you guys remember years ago Renault having an issue with the bonnet in the clio that would open on the motorway? Renault never gave in to the evidence that there was a problem and left customers with the bill.

Yes, and make sure you apply it with the tape coming out from the bottom so it tightens as you roll it out. The other way you will risk to have it loose and I can assure you the roll will try to run from you. For the grout, something like this: https://www.tilemountain.co.uk/anti-mould-grout.html

Get plenty of PTFE tape for the pipework. You can't ever have too much PTFE tape You know the saying, measure 10 times and cut once. Another thing you want to consider for the tiling is a very good grout. Better the grout less mould it will create.
  9. That's why my car and bikes are Japanese. They take these matters seriously.
  10. I think is worth it just for the review alone "Superb Screwdriver set My husband let slip that these would be perfect for him as they are brilliant for working on Japanese motorbikes. And as he is doing one up I thought that I would surprise him by getting them as one of his Christmas presents. He was over the moon. He said I was the perfect wife. It’s only taken 46 years for him to finally realise that"
  11. About JIS screwdrivers. Maybe you want to take a look at this promotion JIS screwdriver set
  12. I've made some snow straps for my car. Have them since 2018 but never had the chance to try them. Basically, per wheel I have a long (900mm) cable tie and then have a few small cable ties that will go on the tyre surface. You will find lots of youtube videos how to make them. The is that once you go out of the snow they will break up and you will have normal tyres again. Downside is if you go back to the snow you will have to put new ones in.
  13. For what you say, and not enough details, you are describing a fuel shortage. If previous owner was as lazy as you say check the fuel filter to start with.
  14. They have longer ones with a bit more power that may suit larger areas and not much more expensive. The cables are around 1m long the mains and around 13cm the interconnecting one. What I did was to cut the interconnecting and solder the connector to the mains so I had over 1m interconnector
  15. Back in the days of my VFR800's chain I never spent time cleaning it. I've always used dry silicone spray and never had problems. Used to spray after each run unless was a short one (less than 200 miles) or would spray it by end of October for the winter. Never had problems with rust. I remember the dry spray wasn't as cheap as the normal oil but well worth.
  16. With these ones https://cpc.farnell.com/pro-elec/pel01618/led-light-linkable-4w-313mm-3000k/dp/LA08124 only 4W but in LED's The 400lumen is measured close to the fitting but still a lot more than the old tubes. The good thing is they come with connecting cables so you can make series of them interconnected the same way I did 3 in a row.
