  1. Well.... Now I feel cheated. I don't drink coffee. But I take a lot of abuse here. Even worse when I start winding up people...
  2. This guy explains it
  3. I think grumpy really goes for pretty much everyone in here
  4. Being a huge F1 fan please let me chip in The accident is quite "spectacular" and the boy was very lucky. A few facts about Grojean. Dubbed the torpedo by fellow racing drivers he was frequently involved in accidents the most notorious in SPA when he decided that was a good idea to push everyone forward on the first turn of first lap where Alonso almost lost his head (literally) when another car past flying over his head. This accident (Abu Dhabi), as horrific as it seems wasn't fatal because of the enormous safety measures in F1 cars, the most obvious the so called halo which Grojean was dead against it and almost left F1 because of it. Note that the accident occurs because Grojean decided to cross the track from left to right with complete disregard for the rules (prohibition of crossing the track without an obvious safety reason on the first lap). Happy that he is still alive and after such accident ended up with minor injuries that doesn't excuse that he's an idiot that should have been banned from racing long ago
  5. A wee historical correction if I may Portuguese and Dutch were the first in supplying slaves to Europe. English followed suit as soon they found out that there was good money to make from it and to populate the American colony with free labour for cotton plantations. Portuguese also took slaves to the south american colony (Brazil) for the tobacco, sugar and other plantations while invading what is now Mozambique, Angola, Guinea in order to acquire resources (natural resources mainly from Angola) both natural and human. As you can see in the map pretty much everyone in Europe took a slice of the African invasion (politely named as colonization). Who ended the slavery is quite unclear. Although William the Conqueror prohibits the sale of any person to "heathens" (non-Christians) as slaves in 1080 DC. The first sign of abolition was back in the 6th century BC when Athenian citizens were set free by law. In medieval times France were the first to abolish christian slaves in the 7th century while Ireland had a stab at it for a short period in the 500's but returned to slavery short after. Was an imperial United Kingdom that totally abolished slavery much later in 1815 together with several European countries signed the Congress of Vienna declaring its opposition to slavery with total ban by UK in 1865 (or thereabout). While in 1818 the 2 members of the oldest alliance still in existence (2020) signed the Bilateral treaty abolishing the slave trade (Portugal and Great Britain) having pretty much everyone else followed suit. Note that in 2020 not all countries have ratified the slavery abolition treaty and the UK only published the final bill back in 2015. Regarding the US, well we all know what they still do to African* people... * - Read black american with African origin
  6. a nice review of the ne bikes to arrive (hopefully) early next year.
  7. You will need to get more info about how it charges when idle and at mid throttle. Then, as I said before check for parasite currents Likewise @Stu Honda is known for failing regulator Battery charge from alternator should be around 13.8V with rpm above idle (2k to 3k rpm) and around 12V on idle If the battery is fine after a run and fully charged then you just need to plug into a trickle charger when you know you will be leaving it for over 1 week. My ST1300 will go flat after a week because of the HISS and all electronics working while sleeping. This would do the trick https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/46459/#/27907,3203,1186
  8. Check for parasite currents. How long is the bike not running until the battery goes flat? Do the flat batteries keep charge once they are recharged? Is there an alarm?
  9. True, although I never heard of Chinese hoarding slaves from Africa...
  10. There are many great cultures and people out there. you should go out more
  11. I have nothing against Chinese. One of the oldest cultures on the planet, a bit rude people but easy to talk to. The worse are the new rich that think they can get anything as long they pay for it (a sense of deja-vu on this). Hard working people, great food (the original one not the one sold in UK) As bad as Britain on colonization...
  12. My Huawei P30 is P68 grade. Never tried to drown it...
  13. Nice? NICE????? I'm nice They are amazingly delicious
  14. Called pasteis de nata. Cream based custard in a puff pastry cup Once you tried it I can assure you that you won't have just the one Usually served with a bit of cinnamon and sugar on top, ideal with Portuguese espresso
  15. Yes looking at the videos and photos it seems like it then a bunch of morons spoil it with stupidly loud bikes while behaving like idiots
  16. Exactly, if someone joins and then does buggerall why do we need to know they have joined? @skyrider Garlic bread is the future???? a grim one This is the future call it a traditional future
  17. GOOD!!!! Fed up with your bike porn and those tasteless blue skies
  18. If cold, rain and strong winds makes a good day then, Good morning.
  19. Welcome. PS: I still prefer the old system where new members would introduce themselves.
  20. Well... one more reason for not going then Still need to find a reason why people go there to get themselves killed or badly injured. Would gladly go there when the race is not on..
  21. Apparently your intercom only allows 1 device at the time. I'm not familiar with your intercom, does it allow multiple riders? maybe you will need to toggle between connections when you want to change from the phone to the satnav
  22. While looking for info for my shadow 700 I've come across a few quite interesting videos about carburetors. This first one is an animation how carbs work. Not the best quality but the information is excellent. The second video is part 1 of 2 about how to sync multiple carbs (not suitable to 125's or single carb bikes) A final note. When cleaning your carbs MAKE SURE you identify where all hoses are connecting before you go around unplugging them. Carburetor function animation Carb sync
