  1. Is this a replacement for TOTY? Now we have the twit of the year....
  2. You would have to pay £10 each wheel. The cost of tools plus the time you will spend doing it makes me wonder if it is worth the trouble.

  6. Makes you wonder what you will find when you google google...
  7. Stainless steel would be rust proof. I assume by bracket you mean something to fix the bottom fixer where the box clips into
  8. How on earth did you managed that????
  9. This was solved yesterday after 1 week ordeal. Ex got a RM card with no reference number. Went to Post Office 3 days in a row with the same reply. "Can't find it because there is no reference number..." After having the ex moaning about it for hours Saturday I told her to call the police as the card was supposed to contain her passport returned by the Home Office. So this would fall into a criminal offense in a form of identity theft. Got a call from police Sunday afternoon saying that the matter should be taken up to RM to be internally investigated. Oddly enough, Monday she got a card from Post Office with a direct number to speak with the manager. Tuesday the letter from the Home Office miraculously appeared in the postman bag and delivered that same day. Strange how after the call to the police everything moved so quickly. Makes you wonder...........
  10. Soon they will ban sheep....

    Squared Tyre

3k miles and a flattening is pretty much normal. That just means you ride mostly on motorway/dual carriage or long straight roads. Unfortunately rounding up the tyres doesn't really exists unless you invet some kind of latte for tyres where you will spin the tyre and remove the edge corners to make it round again, but you will only be taking life out of the tyre. You will notice curving to become harder as you will have to "bounce" over the edge which makes it harder. The only solution will be a new tyre as soon you start to find it hard to negotiate bends. I went back to Bridgestone after a not so good run on Michelin. The guy who fitted the Bridgstone advised me that Continental were trying to get into the bikes market and they have a cracking tyre and those are the ones he's using on his racing bikes. Can't evaluate the tyres as I didn't try them. Probably will give them a go once the ones I have run down.
  12. You can... I wouldn't do it because the current will be too high for the ignition wires as stated by @Tiggie Any charger cables should be connected directly to the battery. This will allow a charger to be connected even when ignition is off.
  13. Or SCO if you want to be pedantic
  14. I use my woodwork clamp and a small metal bar for the pistons. It does the job perfectly. Often the guy doing the MOT will know little about the original thickness of the pads and will judge on gut feeling. Very often I'm told the Pan needs rear pads even if they are a few 1000s miles old and they are not even half worn. Brake pads are one of the easiest thing to do on a bike and you will find a trillion of clips on YT. I always give the calipers a good clean every time I change the pads for good measure and to make sure the new pads don't start to get sticky to the disks. Last thing you want is to have fitted new pads and a couple months later have to dismantle the whole thing because you didn't spend 1/2 hour cleaning the caliper. A good quality brakes cleaner is a great help. Any job on a bike is worth doing well and go the extra mile because I can assure you that you will be doing it twice...
  15. All insurance will cover EU countries. You will have the list of included and excluded countries in your policy documents. Enquire with your insurance for the need of green card. You need to remember to take your bike's documents as some countries will ask for this (Vo5). What you really want to make sure you have is the breakdown cover. STAY AWAY from addon from insurance companies as they will rip you off, what they offer is never what you need. Greenflag have nice prices for EU breakdown cover and allows for multivehicle cover. All the other big players will have similar EU cover. unless of course you are travelling outside the EU, then you have to make your search to fit. Another thing to consider is the city centre green tax (each country have different names). Like OLEZ in the UK most countries will have limits for what type of vehicles can circulate in city centres. I always carry with me a bulb replacement kit, French are always changing their laws regarding highviz and breathalyzers, for the cost of a couple quid isn't worth the hassle so I have a pair too. The obvious GB sticker..
  16. What level of PhD do you need to operate it?

    Happy birthday for the twins
  18. Can't see that picking up to be honest. Like steam cleaners, why you want fried air?
  19. You won't be the first to ask "silly questions" For sure you won't be the last That's why we have the forum, so people can ask whatever they have in their minds and we have fun answering them. Not always with relevant information as you will find out...
  20. I can see a touring trip going to your neck of the woods
  21. Then because of idiots like in the second clip bikers have a bad reputation...
  22. Nissan started with the 24kw batteries that would go up to 50 miles. Then the 30kw with a range of 60 - 80 miles Leaf 48kw with 120 to 150 miles The newer 62 kw (the one I have) goes 180 to 210 no sweat. Yes the battery drains quicker in cold weather, batteries don't like temps below 5c and as you will run the heating system it reduces the range. Once you get used to the "reading" of the battery %s you can easily work out the distance you can go on one charge. Driving style and speed are the 2 most relevant factors regarding human interface. (the above ranges are based on my own experience. T&C apply )
  23. I know that trees under 5m distance will increase home insurance as they are a high risk.
  24. Because demand is getting high and maintenance is really low around 4p per mile compared to 17p per mile on ICE they are valued. The second one I was offered a cracking deal because it was during the covid peak and dealers were trying to get their hand to any car they could. Being a long term Nissan costumer gave me priority and I got the car in 2 months instead the usual 9 to 12 months waiting list.
  25. Company cars don't work for me because I don't do much business mileage. first one I did 59k miles second 35k this one is on 24k in 1 year
