  5. I go a size larger and get the cheapo no brand rain coat and trousers set and wear them over the textiles. Not very fashionable but it keeps the rain and wind out. I get a couple of winters out of them before the inevitable pissy jocks and then replace them with the same again. It's always the trousers that leak first.

  10. Just bear in mind that those torque figures are meant for brand new and perfectly clean threads unless specified otherwise. That is, no your dirty rear axle and used nut doesn't need the book spec and no the used sump plug, non-OEM washer and aluminium threads now covered in oil also doesn't need the book spec. It just needs doing up enough so it won't come undone. I use a 5-25Nm torque wrench more than a big one because the bolts for cam caps, coated in fresh oil like the book says, need to be right. Great big rusty/greasy fasteners on the chassis aren't nearly as picky. I totally get where you're coming from but I don't think our mutual friend will be convinced . Bear in mind that you should use a tiny little torque wrench in INCH pounds to avoid over tightening cam caps . There's many a GSXR and the like been ruined because someone couldn't believe how LITTLE torque is needed to hold down a camshaft . So they ruined their GSXR because they didn't use a torque wrench?

  15. If the timing was set wrong it could have bent a valve. If you have an air compressor you could use a leak down tester to see where you're losing compression. You can get cheap leak down testers on ebay.
  16. Are you sure the choke is off? How's it riding? Did you checked the plug after a proper ride or after running it on the stand? It's 6V magneto with points so it's not going to have a very strong spark at idle. The plug might look better after a good run.
  17. I wouldn't buy a bike without riding it. There's no way to know if you will like it until you ride it.
  18. Anyone with any sense will tell you to buy a used bike from a quality brand like Honda, Yamaha etc. They're miles and miles better than any of these bikes

  20. Should be fine. As a guess say the bike is 250kg and it has a 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear wheel. If that was true there would be 125kg through the rear wheel. That would be the weight of a man. The door isn't going to be damaged by one man standing on it so it shoud be fine with the bike.
  21. Yeah voltage is not charge. I wasn't saying that. I was saying voltage is a force. Caused because there is a difference in charge between two areas.
