  1. Yep, the easiest way would be to stall it, clutch in select gear, squeeze up the front and rear brake and clutch out. here's a run away diesel engine for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3_x6HeIpQs Unlike an overheated spark plug or other which causes the problem a petrol engine. leaking engine oil into the cylinder through a broken seal or worn piston rings is the cause of the problem here on the diesel hence the smoke. These runaways keep going until they burn up all the engine oil or size.

My last quote for the Immingham crossing bike and passenger was over £800 But as said, you got to take everything else into account, the amount of time and miles saved getting there it's a no brainer! Norway is what we want to see, l don't want to spent best part of a week getting there and back

I've already research and tagged the Immingham route Phil, it's not cheap but when you take time and distance saved into account for us it the way to go. Route almost complete, just need to find a slot in the work schedule for both of us for next year
  5. A very good friend of mine who builds Kawasaki race engines for a living told me that fully synthetic oils are not suitable for motors with a wet clutch
  6. Hi if the lights go off when you turn the key then l doubt it's electrical, more than likely your motor suffering from a term called pre ignition. First check the condition of your spark plug, make sure the tip is not burnt, if the plug runs to hot it can ignite the fuel before the spark is called for hence the motor will continue to run despite you switching off the engine. There's a read up here that go's into it a little bit further. http://ngkntk.co.uk/index.php/technical ... ion-range/ A quick check if it possible is to try and remove the plug cap whilst the motor is still running, be careful not to burn yourself.

There's always a price to pay for beauty Mate, but from what pic's lve seen and read about the place it's got to be done. already set a route out we'll be on the bike and camping so hopefully keep the cost down, its the booze that really hits the pocket. currently fuel around £2.00 a ltr, but the camp site are very reasonable around £15 and night for a very well sorted site.
  9. Hi if you've got a decent phone download Co pilot and buy a mount and power supply and fix it to the bike. Music phone calls ans sat nav works a treat
  10. Hi, you can add SW Motech to your list also

Has anyone toured Norway? Been on my to do list l'm hoping next year the year???!!
  12. Hi SW Motech carry spare parts and fixing kits. If you doing it yourself l look for some stainless steel bolts.
  13. I'll second the Aldi ones l brought some last weekend Ski undergarments with reinforced knee elbow and back support about a tenner each for top and the bottoms

Hi I think the way things are going LED is the future http://www.cn360led.com/product/Motorcycle-Lamp.html
  15. Cheers Chris. I saw these, I don't think 5cm is going to cut it for touring purposes. I've googled and can't seem to find anything so if nobody knows of any longer extensions, I might look into making some modified ones that attach to the rider heel plates... I think you will be surprised just how much effect there is. Sue could do no more than an hr on the Busa before the mod was fitted before she complained of numbness and lost circulation. She now can go for hrs no problem before we all need a pit stop for coffee and fuel.
  16. Hi Phil, l made some for the rear of the Busa only dropped them 50mm, lm told it has made a massive difference in comfort. Found this on the M&P site that might be of interest. http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/5671 ... trests/MFW
  17. Where co pilot scores heavily against google maps is that co-pilot is a downloaded software and all that's required is a satellite fix on the unit for the unit to operate, where as google maps is being refreshed by data transfer from your server all the time using up your data allowance. All unit that use satellite or heavy data transfer will consume a lot of battery power from the unit, a alternative power source from the bike is really the only way.
  18. those are the ones we have that I was talking about, and they do a lot more than 100m at lower speeds, motorway or dual carriageway is a different matter, but we find that's because of the wind noise, not the distance We can talk with our sets way above the legal limit. We both have shark helmets we house the mic inside the anti misting attachment that comes with the helmets also as said l chopped off the leads to the helmet speakers and soldered on a 3.5 stereo jack plug so that we can use our inear headphone there a bit fiddly to get to get on but once fitted the sound cancelling kicks in the system works a treat, I've had phone calls on the motorway and the person at the other end had no idea l was riding the bike. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003 ... ge_o00_s00
  19. A couple of these should do the trick http://www.ledhut.co.uk/home-page-bests ... price.html I would forget about the inverters Tango you would be surprised just how much power they consume themselves before offering any mains output.
  20. You can't go wrong with the BT head sets for the money, as little Cat says com's, phone, music, and sat nav for little money and yes they work on a Hayabusa , we have modified ours so that we use our inear head phones we find them more comfy than the stocks
  21. Hi if your going to use them as additional tail lights just be sure that you can clearly distinguish the difference between your tail and stop light. If there to bright you could run the risk of someone behind you not being able to see your stop light
  22. I always mix the coolant with distilled water / de ironized water, its the minerals in the water that causes an electrolyte to get hold, end result is corrosion. By all means if stuck top it up with anything lol
  23. Cheers Chris the missus reckons I'm more excited about riding the BSA than getting married Hope all went well? Hard to find mate is a woman that understands a biker lol. Wishing you both the very best.
  24. Totally agree, but yes like tyres and the rest of the bike always better looking at it rather than for it.
  25. I can't recommend any specific that's all down to personal fit and preference. l will say don't compromise on protection - armour. Your hands will probably be one of first things to touch down in the unfortunate event of an accident. I will also say with the cold weather just around the corner heated grips are almost an essential part of your kit, nothing worse than numb - frozen fingers.
