  1. Stu, this may be ironic, but my anti-virus protection has blocked the content of your post.
  2. We are having more problems with Asda than the local shops that still stock everything. The only issue is that the local shops are quite a bit more expensive. This weeks Asda delivery was no rice, tissues, loo roll and the only pasta was expensive brown stuff.
  3. I don't get it, since all cars registered after 2017 now pay £150 no matter what the emissions are, after the first year.
  4. I could feel the bike was lower and so the centre of gravity felt lower.
  5. Rode it. Had some fun in the Clyde Tunnel showing a twat in a blacked out Range Rover what real acceleration and exhaust noise is like. Then washed it.
  6. An 18 stone pillion on a Harley just made the bike feel more planted. My usual pillion is half that and I was surprised at how little difference there was.
  7. Scottish Motorcycle Show. First time in a few years, so it will be interesting to see some new bikes.
  8. I had to get new tyres in Ireland last year, after one was damaged beyond repair. The rain was biblical, I just had to ride very carefully. The solution is to not lean by going slower and make a big effort to avoid white lines and man hole covers. I started off by riding circuits round where the tyres were fitted, until I had to go to the ferry to get home. Even 20 miles made a visible difference when I checked the tyres. Thankfully, back in Scotland it had dried up and i just took it easy on the ride home. By the time I got back, that was a set of perfectly scrubbed in tyres.
  9. When I retired from my old job, I did look at the feasibility of bike detailing, but the work would be too unpredictable, with weeks of nothing and then very high demand. Between three cars and the bike, I am happy just with our own vehicles.
  10. For those of us who like a project, but are not mechanically minded or have the tools. Detailing is giving the bike a very thorough clean and I find it therapeutic and the results rather satisfying. This video is by the Car Cleaning Guru, whose videos get hundreds of thousands of views by those obsessed with this fine art. I would change one thing he does and I would clean the chain last, not first. There is no point cleaning and lubing a chain, to then remove much of the lube with the products used to clean the rest of the bike. Snow foam is fun to use and this product attaches to any old hose and lasts for ages;
  11. I did not own it, I just did some of my training on it, the Suzuki Van Van. Loved it.
  12. I had those boots for about 4 years and they only went due to getting a bit smelly inside. They stayed waterproof no matter how long or hard it rained. I replaced them with these; https://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/buy/dainese-solarys-goretex-boots-black/26642.htm OK, £8 over budget, but more comfortable than the IXS. That may just be the shape of my feet and calf, but worth a try. They have also remained bone dry.
  13. Another vote for the Muc Off wet lube. Of all the lubes used, it survives the winter weather best.
  14. Not many. Since 2011; Yamaha YBR125 Kawasaki KLE500 Kawasaki Versys 650 Touring Kawasaki Versys 1000 GT
  15. Short ride, including a childish blast to make lots of noise in the Clyde Tunnel and then a chain lube and wash.
  16. I did not think the difference would be that big!
  17. My understanding is that you feel torque when you realise that your bike feels as quick with just you on it, as it is carrying the extra weight of a pillion and you keep on finding yourself in a higher gear than you thought. Torque is about pulling weight.
  18. I just logged into the map and it is now in some sort of Arabic or maybe Hindu style of writing! ...I'm not saying it's you.... but it seems to just be you.... Italian today, grazie.
  19. Does it? Sure it's not Welsh? Some of the Wales tags may be Welsh I just logged into the map and it is now in some sort of Arabic or maybe Hindu style of writing!
  20. I hate the time it takes to get all my kit on and the bike ready and then having to put it all away again at the end of run.
  21. Throttled 54 and Throttled Jnr 18 please.
  22. Why does the map appear to be partly in Dutch?
  23. Have a happy new year, to all you beautiful biker people.
  24. I think forum man of the year should be a woman. Anyone will do.
  25. A lean-to is perfect. Protect the bike from the worst of the weather whilst letting it dry out quickly if wet. I use cheap covers that flap about because they do not trap moisture like the very waterproof covers with elasticated edges.
