  1. No mate....the pipes go to the Fuel pump inside the tank.....there's no tap on the tank. Looking at the connectors I'd expect them to shut the fuel off when they are separated....but they are not doing that. We had the tank off BonnieBird's bike today....and that had a good ol' fuel tap....so the tank came off a piece of p*ss....
  2. 2 fittings under the tank on the Fuel Pump Plate for Fuel feed and fuel return.....each have a male part (attached to pipe) and female part (that is attached to the Pump Plate). Now, I assumed that when I separated these connectors that the fuel would be shut off? So I was suprised when I got half a litre of fuel over my hand and engine until I managed to reconnect the fittings. I'm assuming that this should not be the case....but can anyone else here confirm whether I am right or not? Cheers
  3. Done a nice job there mate.....looking good.... Click or crack from the chain may be a seized link......check both front a rear sprockets too.....and as Throttled says make sure you've not over tensioned it.....
  4. Yeah....I reckon we'll be up for this....
  5. Sounds like the pin in the locking mechanism has seized or stuck......bit of spray lube may sort it for you.....
  6. Yeah, I've got Hoods too.....just hope I never have to test them out.....
  7. Tango

    zx6r wont start

Deffo try bumping it first......no point in stripping it down if it is just something like the battery is low. Or try jumping it from another battery or vehicle.....

    Crash Bungs

Yeah...my R&G's are longer on one side than the other.....was pretty obvious which way round they went as the short one wouldn't reach the engine mount on one side.....
  9. Yeah Neil, we'll have to keep an eye on the weather.....hopefully it'll be OK and we can get out for another run....
  10. Hi Rach.....were you on the bike? What brought you down to this neck of the woods? Ride was good....but a bit cold..... Didn't get all the pub tags we were aiming for as some of the pubs were hiding.... Bikes were well salty by the time we got back....so had an hour or so washing them down..... Still, it was good to get out on the bikes again.....trying to keep going so's riding skills don't get too rusty over the winter....
  11. The latest pics....100 miles for 2 tags.... Railway in Saffron Walden This was a bit of a pilgrimage for me as this is the pub I used to go to with my mate before the big C got him.... The Royal Oak in Barrington......note the salt on Tango's rear tyre......
  12. Bikes washed and ACF50'd..... Engine management warning light came on during the run....but didn't seem to make any difference to the running of the bike.....so I think I'll give it the 3 heating cycles and see what happens then....
  13. As it's injected it'll have a fuel pump.....so most likely not blocked tank breather. Could be plugs.....so you'll soon find out if it's any of the obvious things after you service it. If it still does it, then further investigation will be required.
  14. I think Alex that it's just normal noise until the engine warms up. Maybe a little damp in the electrics giving a slight misfire until it warms. I'm sure these problems will disappear once the warmer weather arrives and you start using the bike regularly....
  15. I think the point they make on this website and in other discussions is that the magnets need to still be effective at higher temperatures.....so any old magnet will not necessarily do the job. Personally I think that it is a small investment if it could potentially prolong the life of your engine....
  16. on passing your Mod2........ Remembered your photo license this time then.....
  17. Forcast looking OK but a bit cold for Sunday.....so may head out and see if we can get some more tags. Probably not head out until 11-11:30 to allow any frost from Saturday night to clear. Got 4 more pubs to get for the Challenge....so we'll plan something around that. Anyone that fancies this let us know......
  18. Me too...... Maybe get a TMBF encampment up there too.......
  19. It was about half a mile from home, there is a tricky t-junction with limited visibility and a mirror. I looked in the mirror, nothing coming right, looked left and a couple of cars, but due to the angle I'd put my bike when I stopped it started to lean and my leg was out too far to stop it going past the point of no return (can't flat foot) - doesn't take much with my arthritic hands!! So I tried to put it down as gently as possible but couldn't stop the inevitable last drop All the cars just carried on past but one lorry driver stopped and picked it up for me (unsurprisingly he was also a biker!). I've got away with minimal damage again, a broken brake lever and a few exhaust scratches - that's all - phew Glad you are OK..... Once the bike gets past that point there's no holding it.......some junctions have really nasty cambers on them too which can catch you out. Cosmetic damage that shouldn't take too much to sort by the sounds....
  20. Just ordered one from the US as this brand seemed to get good reviews on the Triumph RAT forum. But has anyone else used them and have any opinions on them?
  21. Does your bike have Drum or Disk brakes? You'll need pads for a disk or shoes for a drum. Wemoto probably as good a place as any....and I think they have a help line too. Failing that....fleaBay may have someone doing what you are looking for.
  22. Nice pics from Throttled and Remy........ Hope you or the bike didn't suffer as a result Remy........was it during manouvering?
  23. Sorry mate....just saw the date of your original post. I thought it was a bit odd as I remember you saying your Uncle got you a CG125 for Christmas. So all systems go for the Shakedown. And you can get yourself some of those challenge 100 points too....
  24. Congrats....you'll need the new bike before April (for the Shakedown.... ).... You may need to pay a bit more to get something reasonable....but remember it won't depreciate unless you trash it....so it would make a nice down payment against your next bike after you pass your test.....
