  1. There are so many disturbing comments in there I don't even know where to start!!!
  2. Might be repeating what others have said, but I love talking about Bike Clothing!!! Helmet.... Make sure it fits. Should not wobble, should not move on your head at all. If you do the strap up and you can move it up and down, or side to side, then its wrong for you. Go to a place that wants to fit one for you, and not just sell you one. Leathers or textiles.... I have leathers with waterproof over suit. The leathers are Alpinestars. Expensive, but seriously comfy!! Textiles are good as well though. I am treating myself to full waterproof textiles in the next few months. I have been recommended a few here viewtopic.php?t=14277 which I am looking into. Back Protector.... Again important. I am buying a Knox one probably tomorrow which also has a chest protector. Make sure it's CE approved and ideally CE Level 2 approved which is better. Again, like the helmet it should fit very well. Knox, Alpinestar, Forcefield are all good makes!! Gloves.... Again I have Alpinestars. Spent a lot of money on these. Worth it though. You do a lot with your hands and they take a beating. Loads of good ones besides Alpinestars though. Make sure they have good protection. In an off they are normally the first thing to start sliding down the road as you automatically put your hands down first. Boots.... I have Oxtars (Now known as TCS). They only make footwear, so in my eyes know their stuff. Sidi's, Alpinestar's, and loads of other makes are good as well though. Again protection is important. If you don't get your leg out from under the bike before it falls you want your ankles and feet protected. The tiny things you don't think about.... Helmet visor. You might want to have a darkened visor as well as the clear one you will normally get with the helmet. Also a Pinlock which stops your visor steaming up..... They come with a protective film on them you have to peel off you know!! Balaclava. I have a summer one that soaks up sweat so my helmet does not stink and a winter one that does the same thing while at the same time protecting my neck from wind blast. Under clothing. Some people wear these under their leathers. Personally I find my leathers so comfy I don't need them, but other people like them. Ear plugs. They are important. Get some mate!!
  3. Just to let you know mate to get lube of the wheels (Not the tyres) a rag soaked in Parrafin will work a treat!!
  4. Dunno about the first thing mate. The Chain lube is fine though. Would recommend getting off any part of the tyre that grips the road as its as slippy as anything though. I think the white stuff is because it's slightly waxxy. More waterproof and sticks better. Use it myself. It stays white until it gets dirty. Helps if you give the lube can a good shake before applying. Does not seem so bad then.
  5. Never got up close to a Hyosung yet, but I keep seeing more and more of them around. I guess if they prove to be reliable in 10 years like they are now, they could make a good name for themselves.
  6. And some people ride a 600cc bike like a 125!!!...... Ok, me!! Someone who knows the routes and meeting places will always stay with slower riders / bikes. Does not matter if you turn up at a meeting point a few minutes behind others. You just miss out on the tea and coffee round!!
  7. Cheers for the PM mate. Yeah it's allowed. They look a bit big for me. Steve is a tall lad compared to me so I doubt they would fit me!!
  8. Hmmm... Mistakes may have been made. I will lay the blame firmly at the door of my own stupidity!! Spookily though I am actually on holiday from the 24th to the 29th of Sept as well, so it was fairly correct, but not really what I was after!!
  9. I am off work next week!! Anyone fancy a daytime rideout (Weather permitting), give me 24 hours notice and I should be up for it!!
  10. We have the best team in Derby I will have you know!!! Can only agree. Don't really follow it nowadays.... for obvious reasons really!!
  11. Looks Cheap as. Will put some scum off, but not the determined ones!! Moved to Clothing, Luggage and Accessories for you!!
  12. Nah, they have all had their bike's nicked!!! Seriously is that joke just getting really old now!!
  13. Totally mis read that first time... Just in case you saw the post I just deleted!! Which Frank Thomas Jacket is it?
  14. Looks good that mate. I guess it's not just Harley riders, and anyone can come along?
  15. Hi All Looking for some good waterproof textiles. Hopefully a jacket and trousers that will zip together. Would like them to have Shoulder, Elbow and Knee CE approved armour (Or the slots to put them in), and have the ability to not fall apart if I end up sliding down the road on my backside!! Not too bothered about them keeping me seriously warm, as I ain't too badly affected by the cold. Don't want to spend any more than about £300 tops for the set, but ideally looking more around the £200 mark. Oh, and they need to come in Blue. Looked at Alpinestar gear, and a few others, but looking for recommendations more than anything.
  16. It's your modesty that you might want to work on mate!!!
  17. TC. Might be up on the C&F for a couple of hours on Sunday if you fancy meeting for a drink!!
  18. I'd be interested in these, what's the name of the sponsor? I can't see the advert because my browser blocks advertising. This is the URL mate!! http://www.motorcycle-store-online.com/
  19. RIP Toriano http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Photos/Web/redbull_rookiescup2.jpg
  20. Hi Mate I will give you a couple of things close to me. A place called MFN on a Wednesday night. http://www.mfn-club.co.uk/ Any bikes welcome, and on a sunny night, it's good. Matlock Bath. This is one of the most popular places in the country on a Sunday for bikes. If it's a hot day you will struggle to move without walking into a bike!! It's somewhere every biker should go at some point!! http://www.derbyshireuk.net/matlock.html This is not the best web page, but you should be able to find out more by searching for "Matlock Bath" The Cat & Fiddle Pub. This is a pub out near Buxton. The road this pub on is one of the best strips of road in the country. Bikers come here a lot. This web page shows the road. http://www.rigsville.org.uk/roads/catandfiddle.asp Lastly have a look at this. It's still in the planning stage, but it's going to be good!! viewtopic.php?t=9845 Hope this helps!!
