  1. Chimney sweep day today. He is very happy with the soot type and amount he's swept out. He says I must know how to start a good fire
  2. Panels will probably just be a few screws that need undoing.
  3. Many years ago my bike was stolen. When I got it back I saw they had tried using a screwdriver in the ignition ( it was an old bike but not that old) and then cut random wires and twisted them together like they must of seen on tv. I managed to fix it with some crimp connectors. Luckily they had not damaged the ecu with their attempted hot wiring. Only problem I had after that was the key was a little loose in the barrel but not bad enough to bother replacing.
  4. It may help knowing that an AJS Modena is the same scooter. Might find parts for that bike which will fit.
  5. I'd check to make sure the battery has been fitted correctly and the terminals are connected securely. Would also check that the new battery is correct for the bike
  6. Have you checked the oil level?
  7. Ours broke recently and I've got to say I really hated using normal oven while waiting for the replacement
  8. Got to say I was shocked how nice they actually are. Best Served with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on the side
  9. @the fencer The original poster hasn't been on this forum since he asked his question back in January and I doubt he'll be returning unless he gets another issue he can't solve. What have you tried so far with your own bike to get it working?
  10. ebay has a good selection and most seem to be from sellers who are running restoration or an automotive type business. Probably trust them a lot more than ali express
  11. Potential for a nice little money making scheme here
  12. Cheers everyone. I celebrated by going into work at 5am to do prep while my Wife and both children are in bloody Malta about to set sail on a cruise
  13. Sounds like the carb could do with a clean, possibly the floats are stuck. Also worth looking at the airbox to make sure nothing is blocking it. Have you checked the petcock is switched to fuel? The petcock filter can sometimes get gummed up with old fuel too. My money would be on the carb though. Sometimes you can give a gentle tap to the float bowl and it will free up, though most likely it'll need a clean
  14. loosen any bolts for changing the pads on the calipers before you take it off the frame. So much easier but easy to forget about doing until its too late!
  15. We had someone selling one on the forum a couple of years ago, looked a nice bike too. Heres a link to the original post, might give you an idea what they could be worth
  16. Nice Bike!! Welcome to the forum
  17. I can't remember now, maybe 8 lessons. Having had years of experience on the roads definitely made it easier as far as dealing with traffic and knowing what to do at a roundabout etc! parking maneuvers were the hardest thing to grasp for me.
  18. A few thing I found was my sense of speed was different. 40mph in a car feels like 30mph on a bike so easier to speed accidently. I definitely felt like my vision was always obscured by the front pillars too. Another thing my instructor caught me doing was always looking ahead at traffic queues to see if I could squeeze past.
  19. Just cleaned this window last week! Wheres Dastardly & Muttley when you need them?
  20. I quite like earl grey but it gives me heartburn if I have too much
  21. @S-Westerly I see roastworks have a website. I'll give them a try I'm not a huge fan of lavazza either, will drink it in cafes etc but wont buy it for my own use. I used an aeropress for a few years before I got lazy and went the pourover route If I did a lot of traveling I would certainly bring it back out of the cupboard though. Currently I'm drinking Ueshima coffee. It is my fall back coffee when i've tried something new and not been keen. Just has a consistency I like and price is good
  22. Looking at my monthly coffee bean subscription, v60 drip filters, hario grinder........
  23. Not ideal but it did the job for me once when mine snapped
  24. Just won a Makita brushless circular saw for £22 on ebay. Listed as spares or repair as apparently it only works when you place the blade in a certain position. Reasonably sure that will be a cheap fix
