  1. Yup. This. I totally believe you can do whatever you like with your own bike, it's your own bike, I was just trying to clarify what the definition of a certain type of bike is. Do whatever you like with yours, enjoy it, and make it your own creation. It is just that me and my friends (who have owned rat bikes) were having a laugh lately about how few people get the fact you CANNOT build a rat bike, it has to grow.
  2. I appreciate your criticism. Is the phot a custom bike because it has been made to look that way? Or is it a survival bike because of its look? My bike is maintained by me doing as much as possible to keep it safe and on the road. I gave up fixing damage a while back. I see it as a baby rat that will through time and nature grow to be a full rat bike. I would say they are all custom bikes (except rat bikes, which are not) but that is called a survival bike because of the style in which it has been customised. I really do like survival bikes, can see myself doing one!
  3. Here you go. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat_bike
  4. Why is everyone on my case? all I did was clarify what a rat bike is. And by the way that pic is a custom not a rat. you can all smeg off if you are that sensitive, I am out!
  5. Muchly enjoying reading this so far - tis a tad harsh Matty - comment fine but calling it sad? Not nice - sad face! Sad is quite tame, you want to hear what the rat bike fraternity would say!
  6. Just for clarity. Rat bikes are not 'made' they 'become'. You cannot make a bike into a rat bike. It happens by keeping a bike on the road in all weathers, doing the bare minimum to keep it safe and legal, and NEVER and I mean NEVER washing any single part of it, if you drop it, and it gets dented or scratched naturally, that is cool, if you try to make it look old or dented on purpose, that is NOT a rat bike and is just a bit sad.
  7. North Wales? I could probably afford to get that far!
  8. Quite frankly, I don't remember ANYTHING! I think red cider was involved? And possibly some chair stealing? No idea.
  9. Yep, I thought it was some busybody other camper woman that came up the hill at 3am telling us to keep it down? Thought the owner was ok with it? I do remember it being particularly loud between 3 and 4 am though after the request to be quiet! oops!
  10. I think some people thought it wasnt happening so were offering to organise it, but the consensus is that the usual suspects are probably sorting it. Where is gareth, haven't seen him about on facebook either?
  11. You tell her 'Creg'!
  12. I'm special like that!
  13. Oddly enough so does oil antifreeze usually tastes sweet btw Personally I prefer petrol, half a glass with my t every night.
  14. Sorry, disagree, an airbed is much smaller than a bedroll to carry, just needs a bit of puff or a tiny pump.
  15. Yep we loved it. Would defo plan on going back there again. I have to be a bit careful with work, this year I played the 'already booked holiday' card, but next year it wont wash. We get told when we will take our holidays, my summer holiday block is in November this year Should be able to book a couple of odd days though, a years notice should suffice! Venue was great, no complaints! Suggestions for possible improvements would be access to a sink for washing up, and a water tap in the field, that's about it though. We would happily pay more to have a sink and water available, but then we have the monsters, so are a bit more dependant on mod cons. Can't say thanks enough to the organisers!
  16. Great to meet you, I thought that nurse was HOT but it was a lot later than 5 pints, half a bottle of southern comfort for me!
  17. All back safe, awesome weekend, loved the venue. Great to meet some new people too.
  18. Probably be similar time mate, Me Bex and Sophia are about to start loading the car for tracy then we are heading up, coming the scenic route with stops for food etc.
  19. 24.2mph causes the outside pressure to crush the bronchia and exceed 1050mb. This. Scientific Fact!
  20. THAT picture and the only thing you comment on is THAT beard? Not sure how upset I should be!
  21. You've spoilt it now you complete Bar Steward! Oh well, back to the drawing board.

  23. Last year was our first year, and we concentrated on getting to know the people we had got to know a bit in chat before the event as we were so new to the forum. I just wanted to say, sorry if you thought I ignored you last year, this year, now I feel like I know so many more of you on here, I really want to get to know some of the regular faces and newbies that I have not really met before in person. so please come and say hi if I don't get to you first. Really get excited about this now!
