  1. Hopefully he owned up to it out of remorse and learns from it. You'll find out his character in due course l guess. The police didn't say anything about him?
  2. Rome wasn't built in a day is the famous saying isn't it, so don't expect results immediately is what I'm trying to say. Over the years the 3 main things l have managed to cut out are.. Salt, you can't eradicate it completely but you can cut back, you don't need to sprinkle it over everything . Bad for your blood pressure. Dairy, most of it, certainly milks and heavy creams anyway. I have butter as an occasional treat, very little cheese. Go plant based it's cheaper too if you get the unsweetened soya milk. Alcohol. This is the one that has made the biggest difference. We drank too much we binge drank, one day we decided to have a weekend off and it stuck. All my gut problems went away. I'm surprised your grandkids aren't bouncing off the walls with all that processed junk you give them. Good luck with it all.
  3. Yeah me for sure, don't see the point in getting cold and wet when you don't need to.
  4. Welcome..
  5. You should say who you did your direct access with, could help someone..
  6. I brush painted it on from a tin, following the guidelines you had to get the next coat on in a certain time frame otherwise it started to cure. I gave it a few coats flattening it out as I went along, all in the "what it said on the tin" instructions. I was happy with the look (satin black) it just never cured as l thought it might and chips easily. So a bit disappointing all in all. Wouldn't last 5 minutes on forks, but who knows it was probably something I did wrong. ( Not unheard of)
  7. Hi, first thing, l am not a painter in any way shape or form. Disclaimer aside l would have thought any of those should be good for cleaning the forks. The thing l would like to comment on is Hammerite smooth, l used it on a small subframe and it took forever to cure. Not sure if it was something I did in prep but it just seemed, well not hard, compared to powder coating for instance. I know you are keeping it honest and not going that far, just getting the smooth rite job off my chest, lol, good luck keep up the good work.
  8. Aren't fizzy pop cans thinner and easier to bend into shape?
  9. Yeah his was the earlier model with the rounder tank and spoke wheels, a goldy brown paint job, a 70's one l guess. Maybe it said tourqe, or induction, something like that. I did have a coffin tank 250 similar to that and one of the things I remember about that bike, the brakes being really really good. Twin discs, you didn't have to grab the lever they were just sharp and solid.
  10. My mate had an RD200 great looking bike l thought. Did it have electric on the side panels, can't quite remember. One thing l do remember about that bike was if he bumped it off backwards it would run in reverse. Hilarious watching him trying to go backwards, couldn't steer it.
  11. Hi, shouldn't you be going all in with the captain america?
  12. Not sure when exactly but didn't a lot of folk lose their entitlement altogether when changing to the plastic license?
  13. Hi, I think you'd be best revisiting your sponge idea it wouldn't take to much to cobble something that works. You could drop off the motorway if you were desperate there are 3 or 4 exits on that stretch. Trouble is in shitty conditions you could be stopping every couple of hundred metres. Good luck keep searching.
  14. Sounds normal to me after a coolant change, as said take it back to get it topped up, you don't want to add water.
  15. 9/12/80 according to my license. Just before my 18th birthday so l must have been happy enough on the 250's. Around the block and an ' emergency ' stop for me too, though l can remember having to ride alongside the tester, walking pace, to show clutch control in traffic. That and identify 3 signs from the highway code picture book. Absolutely no idea how much it cost.
  16. Not that this will benefit me in any way but I like to watch the racing and see the lengths they go to for improvement..
  17. I had a dream about a warm garage last night..
  18. Yeah I'm happy enough without, just check the pressures before going out and on cold tyres.
  19. If it's a Harley that's one owner every couple of years, about right. In my experience loads of people buy into the Harley dream but the reality is a heavy lump with poor braking and questionable handling, so not many miles. With the full service history and low mileage it should be a good bike. You could use the high ownership count as a bargaining chip or look for the same bike with only one owner from new.
  20. Have you tried chinese motorcycle parts online. They have the microfiche for these, may give you a part number or an Idea of what may fit.
  21. Hi yes you can carry on with the other jobs but if the exhaust studs need sorting, they need sorting. I'd be looking at doing those sooner rather than later. If you can't fix them and then you need new barrels, well anyway one job at a time..
  22. Yeah doesn't look good from that. I dug out my warranty and it doesn't say anything like that, only it should be kept clean in accordance with the hand book. I would defo be taking it back to the dealer and asking the question. A 2023 bike with only 1000 miles on the clock, we've had very little below freezing salt conditions, it shouldn't be like that. Only one way to find out ..
  23. I think the sump comes off in situ, you want a replacement. Also because of that you want to have a good look at all your other finishes, make sure there is nothing else while you're at it.
  24. Hi, my XSR uses the same motor as you and you should not have any paint loss. I have noticed some with poor finishes on the engine but because yours is well in the warranty I'd be taking that straight back to the dealer and make them aware of it.
  25. this is from a well made album. Marcus King, Young Blood. This is the sort of thing I like.
