Annoying isn't it. Hopefully you'll manage to forget all about it once it arrives. Not a good look for Triumph though.

Have a look at exhausts on new bikes and where they sit, the space just isn't there anymore in a lot of cases, it's full of catalytic converter.

Challenge 2024 Challenge 2024 - Map and Pictures ONLY
Nick the wanderer replied to Hoggs's topic in General Rideouts/Meets
Some Hoggs points here. Pig breeds, the Lincolnshire Curly Coat also known as the Baston (Now extinct) Also ThreekingHAM. There are millions of villages with Ham (Meaning farm or homestead) around here so I'm trying to change it up a little bit. Forgot one, Swineshead. -
Yeah I'm a torquer, 1/2" on bigger stuff and 3/8" on the smaller stuff. I have become more cautious with the given torque values though, they are not always correct. The sump plug on the Yamaha CP2 engine for example.

I don't know why l thought it but "didn't they used to race them?" Came into my head. Anyway a quick search didn't reveal anything, apart from there is a CX500 forum out there, could be worth a look if you're going for it. -
Little bit of a procession the racing, looks like the PBM team will do ok this season . Surely the talking point of the weekend is Skinners helmet coming off in his spill, that was scary!

Also you may want to spend some money on tyres and handling, suspension, brakes. So you are at least getting the best you can from what you have.

Irwin will do well on the Ducati this year, he'll be there or thereabouts. That being said l don't like the bloke, dunno if it's because he looks like a weasel, I can only understand every third word he says, dunno. I wouldn't trust him I know that.

WW3 survival bike for an elderly(ish) 5’1” tall lady
Nick the wanderer replied to UKbiker2024's topic in Motorbike Chat
The Honda you are looking at also comes in a 70 and 90 cc. More cc's give you more power and that small increase could be beneficial with carrying anything you may want to move. -
It happens, sharpens the mind after something like that I find. People think it's a doddle driving around but it's not.

As above my first thought was electric, and have a C90 as back up. Have you built a shelter? How do you see events with everything panning out? -

I don't mind YSS -
Maybe the insurance group the bike is in could be a factor. I mean if you went from your Honda to a sports bike they may question you, but mid sized bikes of limited power? They may take the opportunity to charge you more but as long as you pass your medicals you should be ok l would hope.

Hi, didn't they also make a CX650? That may fit. Although if you are gonna try and fit an alternative motor into it I'd hold off with the powder coating, especially if you are gonna be chopping and changing the lugs etc. A Guzzi engine may fit for instance... -
What music have you been listening to recently?
Nick the wanderer replied to a topic in General Chat
I like a little video entertainment with music when I post on here, something for the eyes as well as the ears. Here's one that just came into my feed. -
Forgive me but didn't you just get it looked at when you put the tyres on it? Loads of good roads to pootle about on around you, Braintree to Beccles and have lunch? just get out and put a few miles on it, clear a tank of fuel through it a couple of times will do it the power of good.

Accidentally put a 26t into the ditch. ooh unlucky, did the wind take you or were you looking out of the window?

Hey JRH I would have doubled up with the Boars Head at HAMpton Lucy, 10 for each surely. -
I'd go for taking the one you have to bits and having a look inside first, you never know. After that I'd go genuine second hand, keep it original.

What did you do WITH your bike today.
Nick the wanderer replied to Trooper74's topic in Motorbike Chat
MOT day, the chap that does my MOT's must be 90 I reckon, he still gets all the checks done, just at a more leisurely pace. -
I think OC meant B was jealous of his hair. And I thought he was off the gear when he went to Sarajevo, he kicked that before that war, though it wouldn't have done anyone's mental health any good. He knocks out TV shows at quite the rate, the production doesn't bother me, it's hardly Downturn Abbey or some other equally boring costume drama is it.

Yay, I do believe I have have closed the gap very very slightly in last place.

I'd be making sure it was fitted correctly on the inlet manifold first, then working on the air box second. You may have to manipulate the air box rubbers.
-
In the 3rd pic. The carb is not pushed in all the way. You need to reseat it. It's twisted there.

I blame the Wombles, it was them that started collecting the rubbish. There are loads of those do it up and sell it on shows though, from houses and cars to stuff from the tip. If folk are dumb enough to pay for it more fool them. Aside from there being only so many old bikes around I'd be more inclined to blame the internet, it's just so easy to get your bike advertised to a far wider audience now.
