Sounds like you should get away with it. Did the mechanic give you the cash back?? But four oil changes in 1900miles?? Youre probably using more oil than petrol!!
  2. You don't need to prove you sent it, they can't prove you didn't and they also can't prove they didn't loose it when it arrived. Edit: also I was trying to find the law that states that a posted item is classed as delivered. This is how it's worded:
  3. Never any photos on ck's adverts

4 oil changes in 1900 miles???? really?? Please dont tell that to the dealer, it will be obvious you have no clue what you are doing... under UK/EU law, dealers cannot force you to have the bike serviced by the main dealer in order to keep the warranty, but if they can prove the failure is due to the bike not being serviced correctly then they will win. So, you need to read the service schedule properly, if asked you explain thats what has been done to the bike and leave the bike with the dealer to fix and hope the other mechanic didn't leave too many telltale signs that he's been in there, and that he used genuine parts! why you decided to take it to another mechanic I have no idea... but so long as the other mechanic is a proper business, you may still be ok.

How many oil changes did you do in 1900miles?? How many did the service schedule say it needed?? And why are you letting him charge you for something that should be FREE!! Get the dealer to take the bike back and not give it back until it's fixed and get your cash back from the garage who said they fixed it but didn't... What a mess to be in!!

that would only be an issue if the problem is related to poor servicing.. and even then at just 1900miles you have a strong case to say it's not fit for purpose... have you actually asked the dealer you bought it from or are you just presuming they wont help?? and at just 1900miles, did it need any servicing??

You need to take it back and get him to sort the problem. They diagnosed the fault and charged you money to fix it. The fault is still present so clearly they didn't fix it, so they either refund you the cash you already paid or they fix the problem. Why are you not taking it back to the people you bought it from?? Since it's a new bike it's their responsibility not your or another garage..
  9. Need to speed off, leave them standing, pull up a bit further down the road, put on your yellow vest and point a hairdryer in their direction as they come speeding towards you...
  10. His snoozing just lost you 15quid.. Well not exactly Joe! If he snoozed a bit longer I could have beat him to booking and then shared the link to him so technically me snoozing lost me £15 How the hell have I just turned this on to me So where did that 15quid actually go?? Who has it now?? Lol
  11. They remind me of killer whales... Something about the curves and hump at the back i think. If that was black and white instead of blue and white it wouldn't look out of place in SeaWorld! Great bikes, and that's in excellent condition, i bet it would still leave many newer bikes in its dust..

Nope, you paid them for a service that they have failed to deliver. Take it back and tell them to fix it or return your money.
  13. That's why you need to pass your test and get a bigger bike. Anything other than a 125 would have left him standing and you wouldn't even be thinking about it let alone having to stop and recover.
  14. A simple home made armoured car could easily drive about in central London killing thousands of people before being stopped. With metal plates over the windows and runflat tyres even cops with guns would struggle to stop it.

so you managed to burn out the clutch in 1900miles?? was it really badly adjusted??
  16. They used to broadcast live telephone phone-ins on kids breakfast TV. Anyone could phone in and speak to pop stars LIVE with no buffering... they don't dare do that now because everyone would be trying to swear live on air... thats how bad society has got

so what actually broke? is the garage the same people who sold you the bike?
  18. where you been for the last 5 months!!?? welcome back

Any product sold in the UK has to be "fit for purpose". A clutch failing after 1900miles is clearly not fit for purpose. Regardless of what they say, if it's under a year old you will have a very strong case against them. Even if it's older than a year you still have a very strong case. And don't listen to any nonsense about it being the manufacturers problem because it's not. Your contract was with the bike dealership and and so it's up to them to put it right. If they continue to be difficult just tell them you'll take them to small claims court for the cost of the entire bike.. as far as you're concerned you bought a complete bike and currently the whole bike is unusable so you will claim for the full purchase price.
  20. I thought the same and thats where Christmas came in handy And I will not use any of my other screwdrivers at all now!! Apparently "we" have agreed we "won't be bothering with birthday presents this year". When I heard it earlier it sounded just like "...and I suggest you find yourself a better wife" to me So buy HER the screwdrivers - since she wont have got you anything she'll feel sorry for you and hand them over to you... you get new tools and make her feel guilty for not buying you anything all in one move...
  21. any sign of these boys or are they still trying to get their biking gear on? http://www.visordown.com/sites/default/files/field/image/Met%20terrorism%20police%20BMW%20F800GS.jpg

Sounds like you've given up already.... From what you said it's not the plates that have failed, something more catastrophic has happened. Something that's not subject to wear. Yes plates can wear out but they shouldn't break and it would take very poor riding to wear out a set of plates in just 1900miles so i would first ask what's actually broken what the 200quid bill will be paying for and what caused the failure and should you expect the same failure in a further 1900miles and so on. The bike is virtually new and it's broken. That suggests a manufacturing problem. But sounds like you're happy to just pay them the cash.... Its Your money mate, either fight for your legal rights or roll over and take the blame for something that's really not your fault... Do some research and build an argument to get it done for free.... But to be honest they way you are talking on here they are going to walk all over you fob you off with some nonsense and just see you as an easy pushover and great source of further free money...

Well do you think it's fair that you have a catastrophic mechanical failure after only 1900 miles of normal road use?? I can't actually believe you haven't already had an argument with them about it.
