  1. Sounds not enough engine inertia (gyro) to help you, rather than leaning too far lead you to the drop. Pictures might be helpful…..straight on level with the head light or bars, side on and from the riders view. might have bent or damaged these- pictures will confirm. handle bar-clip on. forks or clamps. wheel. axle. Head stock, bearings. foot peg. tyre. might be lucky if you loosen them bolts, and then reset them, might go back as they were pre crash.if not at least you will know what is wrong.
  2. Lost it on a stright in the town centre what a loser, shame a bollard didnt do worse. Could have easily killed a bystander. Only that long on a youths centre? On a better note: Tell you what the copper was smooth as silk following those nob heads, absolutely not breaking a sweet, looking slow as a granny in honey while assessing the situation and others around, while still keeping a nice distance from the nob who had absolutely had no regards to anyone, thought he was a hotshot on his way to freedom. And the copper still had to be professional by trying to care to the crettin. Much respect to our biker coppers .
  3. The only ones to really benefit were the manufacturers especially for convenience to them. It’s a change and a hard decision for them to make but really as they and bud said if the business model doesn’t work or be adaptable it’s silly to carry on thT way - good luck to them . for me to have two side to one business model to work very well and I don’t mean it won’t work for reiten as now but at least they have wriggle room to do what they want. higher volume of potential customers but less profit per unit and expect return on scheduled service or warranty work (Chinese brand for example) and vice versa (bmw/ quality used) in hope of service and extra return on continued services or paid warranty packages . If the Chinese brands really want to compete and be a force to reckon with then they just have to improve a few things for both the customer/owner and dealer.
  4. Welcome.
  5. Hi I’m ill keep it short as I see way more problems than SD and Hairsy have mentioned. It would be nice for some but don’t see it working as a business whole even as a sideline, sorry. There is only a few ways it could make some money but it would be a narrow window of opportunities with the few owners having to work around. its not that it hasn’t been tried before…
  6. See all these useful ideas and skills you would have missed out, we have much more work for you yet , keep up the good work.
  7. So you’ll have that faint masking smell/odour, after the baby has been washed from sick and other bodily soiling, you know that something has gone on with it but not quite sure which before hand.. but then again it might be smell of the lady magnet? Or the urge to change you? lol.
  8. Hi and welcome. Well with all that planned the choice for me would be : 1st F900xr as long as your fine with big twins and scoped out seat. 2nd Kwak, not the best looking Kwak made in my opinion but a solid choice. Plently to choose from. 3rd Honda, most modern ones are known to be abit vibey at certain rpms. Husoi bike is a good un, needs a home. peeps on here can advice good places and ones to avoid.
  9. Some helmets are designed to make it easier to remove and wash than others shoei are very good, hjc are ok to name a few. some have to be done while in but to me it’s a risk to the delicate inner helmet . some just not to . if removable id just hand wash them with hand soap, rinse well. Pat dry excess water and leave in its natural position in a warm place but not directly on a radiator or place it on a thick towel. If not there is some decent helmet foam cleaners about, muc off (I think) isn’t bad stuff, the smell isn’t terrible but there is something about it that just doesn’t get 5stars. There was German brand one (moly I’m sure or Wurths?) that was a really good at cleaning, but holy it needed a day or two to really air off.
  10. Dont think any of it was up apart from your hopes. It doesn’t get much rougher than that! six foot down (death), three foot down (to hell for liar), one foot in the grave (for divorced) and three foot up by being kicked in the nuts and robbed (by under buyer)…. Well I won’t tease fate or jinx by saying owt else.
  11. I know. shearing is also one of many more added problems, Which is why I said 12thou is pushing it really even with better than ever oils.. which funny enough, I’m due to change the oil on the bike this or coming month , luckily nothing exotic or expensive for this old bike….
  12. Yep. Long life, low ash and sulphur oil, loads of different specs more than a simple 40w, oils can do and be engineered to do wonders (just ask ktm) but it comes at a cost. Fiat had one for pandas and 500 twin air, Audi had one for the RS6. trying to find the correct spec oil at a reasonable cost was a challenged. Admittedly that is with assumptions of absolute perfect conditions, realistically 12 thou is pushing it really but when or if people research it for a new car makes it look like servicing is cheap but the manufacturer are hopeful it will be put on to the next owner (after the warranty expires) and it’s their problem.
  13. Yep, cool. personally I’d pick the vfr over the heavy lumps, giggles it will be but pushing tankers and cleansing a million fin stacks can be tiresome. Good bikes but Be warned some people don’t like the v tec versions… Have you also look at a few more options? what are you looking at doing with the bike? Sunny social? Pillion? what do you like or don’t? Fairs or naked? Preferred brands? what did you have before? Peeps on here have good suggestions, if we can get a stake in the ground first?
  14. Agree, Now I never stated they are always right because they aint, but they and other nations do have a way about things. How many years and models did they carry on with the reg rectifier problem on Honda bikes…..well over 12years even when they used to design and release a model every year or two so they could have changed it ,but no….eventually something changed…same with their racing. Sometimes it works sometimes it just takes longer than you hope. now to be fair it’s not just a Honda bash session cos others do have their own fair share.
  15. Custom work might be worth a shout if you’re stuggling? Rst, hideout, Scott to name a few. Might not be cheap but certainly would be worth it over the years of use you’ll get out of it.
  16. honda will only show what they think will be good sellers and maybe a public reaction/teaser if lucky. its a great shame when a manufacturer doesnt/can’t attend a show. the basic small stand costs an absolute fortune to run let alone the big ones that the manufacturer go for and more elaborate it goes up, there’s the set up design, preparation, layout, stands, walls, floors, lighting, fixed bike stands, posters/leaflets, pay of setup, TVs, tables chairs, desks, computers, IT crap, workers pay, clothing, staff, pieces you lay out, stocking of merch, cleaning/repairing/replacing of said stuff, for a week, then transport…..so much more, so for someone like Honda or bmw it’s way more than £100k… they are more of a showcase/advertisement than a money making spin, never had, never will, but if you don’t show the chances of getting a bite is less….especially if a dealer isn’t around the corner. the “sellers” sweet spot for size and selling stuff will be clothing, helmets, accessories and tyres etc. how many people really will turn up Ona bike when most already have a car? then if other people will be going will in go in the car at that time of year…. Bit of a low ball throw on a low (cold) end of the season for a small country to be honest.
  17. Hi Mike, welcome. sorry to hear of the life woes but returning to biking will fill some gap. good idea on the refresher course. bikes and yourself will have changed so your scope of what to look for could be different. things that have gotten better are the kit as you’ve probably worked out, tyres, suspension, smaller engines producing more power so I wouldn't get too hung up about cc but the prices has gone up.
  18. You can blame the Indian and neighbour market for that decision. michelin do the road classic in a 90/90/18 but it is bias ply so it will be solidly built, but better bet than the Heidi. you can’t do down a size unless you change the complete wheel(s), and the rim will be your limit for the ratio change. changing the ratio (especially what your thinking of) or profile doesn’t always mean more grip, more than likely it will make it worse as the tyre will have less support from the sidewall, then you’ll have to add even more pressure then you’ll get this ill match balance feeling from the tyre, especially on a small road bike. nearly all modern road and race 250bhp monsters even the fronts are still 120/70/17…..for 125 8hp right up to 1300 250+hp and kg monsters - the same front… the cbf125 had a front 80/100/17 rear 100/90/17, still skinny tyres, I never lost the front and I road it safely but aggressively. wife fell a cropper twice, diesel in the winter on a round about (rear) and the worst chipping bitmin left over on the road I’ve ever seen (front and abit rear). SD is correct, and I’ll add one more for now. “Wobbly” have three normal causes that need looking at first; tyre pressures. tyre wear. suspension. Fork oil change will be on the cards, even if your 45kg fully clothed and wet… They weren’t very supportive when new for more westerners, Due to their age now oil will be thinner than water and thick, gunky at the bottom, smell really bad the handling will have degraded even more so.Pictures of your old tyre wear will confirm so. unless your a small bean pole id wouldn’t bother with 10wt, 20wt will be better bet with that type of fork.
  19. Ncd is gained through you and your time kept claim free and clean, it is not attached to the bike or the license as such.
  20. Last time at the nec was about four or 6 years ago… when the little one wasnt at proper school, so week day was optional. was a good day, weekend I think would have made it harder work.
  21. German made and manufactured maybe but Japan is very particular, they test everything, they signs EVERYTHING off before hand many years before hand at a slow speed. Jeeze! I think a little bit of Intoxication can be bad thing for some. If im very wrong or done some untoward then I expect a message from Stu or mods bollocking or banning me.
  22. I am not laughing at your state. if you read the previous, it’s already answered. im a little bemused on how on the honest information you’ve given you’ve don’t nothing wrong yet defended Honda more so than fleck would have done to probably his last dying breath, even though it would have costed you thousands regardless.
  23. Three and two hours. so sleep time isnt necessary after working?
  24. it’s as quoted as this unit can be restricted as needed but can do the top mark as necessary. The problem really is?
