Please recommend me an inexpensive helmet cam
RideWithStyles replied to JohnJive650's topic in Motorbike Chat
If it’s just for that, any water proof 720p , with a battery capacity, memory card, almost any software compatible of your choice will do? Maybe an older series go pro or what ever people like these days? -
Chain slack is very important, You need to know what your manual states. Externally there isn’t much to them, so the bolts holding the mech was loose now you’ve tightened them but no difference? Did you move the clamp position from the shaft or the rod? Is it the lever mechanism itself (rod, bearing, joint). have you checked the clutch/cable disengaging properly?

Anti reflective coating on glasses (the subtle green tint on them) can help.

Hi and SD said. you could do two things? ask Yoshimura/ uk distribution if it will?or look at Yoshimuras own website, do they have the same code as the other one listed? If not then no. now there is a difference between the plastic and alu pans, fittings how and where they sit with the bike and more importantly the exhaust. So the plastic ones are nestled very closely and around the exhaust while the Alus are higher up, is this picture from the re or the de? I don’t know 100% but I put in as the re but thats no way to be sure as I was looking at parts lists. Now the other thing to note is the suspension spec is different between the re about 170mm and de about 220mm, so the re is is lower so the seat and the pans will be lower down closer to the exhaust, now depending on how much different the yoshi and std is will determine how much or if you can get away with it.

2025 Honda Grom First Ride Review and RACE
RideWithStyles replied to Admin's topic in Motorbike news
The cbf 2011 had official 11bhp but really it was 8hp, weight 20+kg more. Still could hit 75+mph with a front sprocket change, Bit of a goer after that. so a 20kg less bike with less surface area will be keener. -
I’m trying to understand why full motorbike licence holders are not riding. I’m getting a business going to fill this gap and wondered if anyone who had a full license but not riding would be able to help and filling a 3 minute survey? Really grateful.
RideWithStyles replied to John Harrison's topic in Newbies
Ok thats great. I suspect you’re gonna have to REALLY look into this far more than the survey you’ve submitted before committing money to said venture. needs be far more than just a persons/household income or sole reason. -
Stalling isn’t a fail in its self (if not precarious position) but not doing the resetting, restarting, viewing and set off correctly is a major and twice is/leads to a fail. so im guessing that’s what happened. These examiners are trained to see things without thinking it, are like coppers (quite a lot of them are ex coppers). Good instructors of certain class look for the same things. the red car may or not have had a person in it? the assumption is to predict maybe they would/could have opened car door into your path, You’re too close to be seen by the person opening the door and you won’t have the time and/or space to react to avoid the collision. sounds like You didn’t see it or spot it. if your fluffing the clutch and gears so often on bikes and cars, maybe it would be prudent to take the license on an automatics? It could be cheaper for you and less chances of fail. maybe your self esteem (of just because you’ve ridden so long else where as you have been doing), assumptions and looking for an excuses are clouding your judgement? i think a little more revision (to what UK test stds and procedures are), attention and discipline will get you there.

Alarms reliable or worth it? . sorry but to me (two of my bikes had them and failed many times) and my local mechanic would say the owner wasted £200, it’s always going to be a weak link of disappointment eventually. if I was going to hook something up to be a parasite - better options would be a tracker, even a none hard wired one is a good option. -
It’s good stuff, clean and Smelling nice is good . just be careful which you use with cats about as the some are repelled by it and others attracted to it like a magnet/ upset you and replace it with their minging Waz all over it!, once they do it once they have a mind set of a midge… Oxford do mint, another company does orange, a wheel sealer I have left is cherry, detailer is a pleasant one but cant nail down what it was and gt86 is my favourite industrial smell. Garages , i have to wonder towards the Tyre racks. Ducatis dealers are best for combination of (rubber, oil, fuel, grease, plastics and cleaness) for new bike smell.

2025 Honda Grom First Ride Review and RACE

I remember seeing the previous one at the nec and thought HF how small and joked about, even my then very young daughter (single digit age) managed to get on without trouble, but even with its tiny size it was sooo comfortable straight away to sit on while not being cramped where as the Honda rebels (seat, pegs and bars were terrible) or husky’s (seat? I wouldnt call it that) was an instant regret of sitting on them, they looked better made and cheaper than the REs, was very impressed and im not a modern honda fan boy. The only reason we didn’t pull the pin was I plans to use it far more than it had been designed for (don’t live in city) and would have to be my only bike. I sometimes still see the odd one out and about, brings a smile. -
Ducati ST2 : Amateur Restoration Take 2

Correct, I like them over brands. Very Long term owned two, long term use of two, short term of another two, test drive one just in cars. I would like to get another one if “it was the right one”, So yes they are under my skin. i certainly know when they were “at work”, after they took their lunch breaks, then their espresso filled ones…lol. ciao. -
Only if your in London.

No I’m not, I’ve worked with enough of them to know, I’m a firm fan of Italian brands (ridden a good few and helped brother sort a few out) car and bikes but even I (and many other noticed they’re design short falls). if you notice the post I did say even a little bar holding it…because I know and did notice it’s still there…wow the thought of epic design. -
oh yes and claims to be the driver/named …still goes on.. More likely to Struggle fighting hoody thieve gangs off -. I’ll assume your excess is stupidly high too? yeah sorry to hear but you will struggle to get anything reasonable: London is an overridden #########_ raises risk. young have to ride small bikes and crash a lot with that type of bike - so statistically so raises risk. drivers are mostly not paying attention to anything or just angry at everyone - raises risk. Attracts thieves as bikes are still in demand - raises risk. the police (mostly the top level goobers close depts down that may help) and mostly files reports against, wanting to waste resources and money to do other easy tasks- raises risk. If by luck ends to court, quick to return nicking, no real address in the system afterwards on breaking habit - raises risks. so for the insurance theres very high chance of paying out more than they earn let alone break even with little incentive. Do you really need a motorcycle in London? As terrible public services are said to be run but access to them is better (than other places?), the way people treat them and others is disgusting and the mayor has a hump on everything but money. it saves you grands in buying the bike, grand in insurance, the kit. stress when it gets nicked, then you have to pay your high excess ontop, they then pay out will be “market value” so around half or a touch more what you paid for the bike but nearing your excess? so you then have to find the difference in money lost and recoupe the excess cost, and start again only then your insurance goes up more again or just won’t insure you… only to figure out it might not be worth it, thats what the insurance is suggesting to you. thats my take on it and if your still fine or can afford to risk it then great, but don't be surprised if your really paying through the nose and do every year while your there. probably just get a portable e-scooter…

Looking great! yeah the battery fitment seems like it was a after thought! Big ass batter Plopped onto a flimsy sheet of plastic held on by a a few screws and a little bar, barely 1/2 the coverage of the batt, partially hanging off while having to hold other components, crap and water gains, heat, cold and vibration, its a tough life there for it. I wouldn’t want to be spending loads on a battery just for it to die often and taking the fairing off all the time. -
best security feature for bikes?
RideWithStyles replied to zee-659's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
A disc lock on its own is can be beaten reasonably easily par a few products and correct to the bike. Lift up and away, if prepared (its a regular parking spot for the bike) they could just undo, and put a slave wheel in. If it’s a small bike then the pins are smaller to allow proper fitment but the weaker, and putting a big lock just expose the u bar of the pin to cut at. If I had to choose only two of the best methods to combine: proper chain/lock and a tracker. if they did somehow manage to get around the chain in under 10 making a shite ton of noise, at least you’d know where it is and get it back when they dump it in their snooping spot checking if it has a tracker. the only biggie seen two ways, they know it has a tracker so to avoid it or if its really worth it do it again but be prepared quickly dump/van it and have another person to break it down to find the tracker which is time consuming, damages to bike more (lower value) and a lot higher risk to them. -
Maybe Bennett’s system knew who he was? And what he does And thought….yes, yes of course . well the MT is more likely to be bought, nicked, stolen, ridden like a tool, crashed etc than say a RE or a Bonnie, statistically. ive had ups and down premiums between most insurers, for example Bennett’s more often higher while Hastings less. Only things that change is bikes consistently had for four or so years each, on bennets this year as it seems better if not value of offered to cost but renewing might change.

Sorry I’m a little confused as to why you’re buying the furniture (£6k?) for the new buyer opps I mean ####### landlord? It’s no interest to you if he can’t/wont decorate the place. im sure ull be under pressure to sell it but… while he can throw some #### in and make the full doc money out of the tenants for a fully fitted out house, make his money even faster that he didn’t pay for? i think you’ve let yourself and tenant got done over more than the coli would have. Id only do it if he payed me extra £10-12k to the price. on the other thing, yes I agree but are we talking businesses or homes? depends on the businesses use case (power hungry and operating times), rates, building infrastructure, houses even more difficult due to prices. When its gradually upgradable and favourable returns but if it relies on forking out a lot again to go with it as an accessory with a potential limited lifespan- its a hard sell especially when it’s viewed at best as invisible “whites goods”. currently only banning everything (forcing) (gas boilers, ice engines, normal meters etc) and replacing them with heat pumps, EV, and smarts- look how’s that going) making new houses mandatory to have them all may speed things up and eventually abit cheaper to the middling buyers but that will push new house prices to even higher obscenity. with the younger generations less likely to be homeowner- no incentive, with landlords very little if non at all as they dont benefit from fitting one, only paying out money which is the number one rule of do not.
