S-Westerly Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Reminds me of about 38 years ago my dad was following me in his rather spiffy Toyota Celica and I had a scabby old Volvo. I stopped at a roundabout, my Dad didn't. The insurance was interesting; the Toyota needed a new front end and the Volvo added a few more scratches to the back end. 2 4 Quote

What worries me is that these days given a choice between a Celica and an old Volvo I'd go for the Volvo. 2 2 Quote

onesea Posted May 23 Posted May 23 (edited) I am on my first and it's not inspiring me. And today I am nominating me or the car that didn't let me out. And awaiting footage of me in the wrong on internet or letter from police Inside lane doing 70, 2 cars going a couple of mph quicker in outside lane, car doing much less in front of me (55) I signal and go to pull out into reasonable gap between 2. Check mirror pull out next thing all hell behind me on the horn. Look in rear mirror, he had tried to shut gap, now moving towards central reservation trying to create 3rd lane. Pull in to first lane and break for car the car 1 had pulled out for passenger now filming me. They are matching my speed I brake firmly, they pull in front of me. I preempt next manover and brake again, thier break checked failed. I sit 100 foot behind awaiting there next trick. They slow a couple of times then speed up. I tentatively go back to 70mph surprise surprise I catch up with them. They start pull in from outside lane and slow, I slow snd take next junction at last minute it has services and life's to short. Impressed they got phone up and recording in the time it took, unless things like that happen all the time to them Edited May 23 by onesea 5 Quote

RideWithStyles Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Brother had a few, his current long termer is a 900 estate super tank, breached and well over 500,000miles a few years go and not asked him whats its up to date. Its the model well before ford even thought of bastardise the brand and its well aged but still trooping on, lasting longer than 9 Peugeots or far more than over priced POS 5 teslas, rumours has it… Quote

Fiddlesticks Posted May 27 Posted May 27 (edited) Nominating myself again. Decided as it will probably rain later to wear my big adv boots and full gear on the ride in. Forgot to stick my indoor shoes in the bag. Currently sat at my desk in socks. Edit: Obviously, not just socks. But without shoes Edited May 27 by Fiddlesticks 2 3 Quote

rennie Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Nob of the day week month is me! I've lost my false teeth! It's been a few weeks now I kept hoping they'd turn up! But they've gone! Vanished! I genuinely have no idea what I've done with them! I'm not registered with an NHS dentist so getting new ones is going to be very expensive and time consuming! 1 8 Quote

I’ve snapped a denture before and that was bad enough, luckily £35 to fix it. But to lose them would be devestating you have my sympathy Edited May 27 by Stevehessleuk Spelling 1 1 Quote

Fish Posted Saturday at 19:10 Posted Saturday at 19:10 Whilst following one of our finer older drivers in her little Nissan Micra from the A222/A20 Sidcup roundabout southbound, with the left lane being either straight on or a filter onto the A20. There's a little gap but not masses and not close enough that the Micra felt I was tailgating, a right tit (and husband) in her Tesla thought she would just bully me into making a space by accelerating to be very close and then indicating! Needless to say they decided that as I was not in the mood to give way they should apply the brakes and fall in behind me, like they should have just done in the first place. At the next set of traffic lights, there was some frustration that I didn't just give in because she is clearly a more important road user in her Tesla. I do enjoy that Tesla's have this auto-brake system active, which for some reason kept applying whilst she was following me for the next mile or so. I did remind her that she had past the hospital at Sidcup and should turn around and get an aggressive driver assessment done. 2 5 Quote
