Six30 Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Looking at getting another lid , think the most I've give for a lid is just under £200, liking the look of some Shoei lids but they are a fair bit more expensive ... are they worth the extra , wind noise , fit etc . Quote
Mr Fro Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I like Shoe - I've had a few now. Can't say they're any quieter or louder than others brands I've tried - I just like the fit and style. Quote
Stu Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 wind noise is irrelevant in my book as I wear earplugs all the time plus I have a barn door to stop that shit Comfort wise yes the extra is worth it IMO I suppose you would have to try them on and leave a lid on for as long as possible and see how your noggin feels Quote
Six30 Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 it's a shame shops don't gave test drive lids so yo can take me out fo half hour. Quote
Guest Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 First thing you'll notice compared to any £200 lid is the vents work. Quote
Stu Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Yeah it really pisses me off does that! You could find the size you need in a shop and order it online take it for a test ride and use the distance selling act to return it Quote

tuktuk Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Had an x spirit 2 last year, loved it. Very good fit and ventilation. Felt substantial compared to cheaper lids, like it could take a good whack. The nsx i think its called may be in your price range and an awesome lid Quote
Guest Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I always used Shoei.....perfect fit for me!But when the time came to replace it I wasn't going to pay those stupid prices! So I got a HJC instead......the fit is virtually identical. Is the Shoei better? Yes....it is! But it's not 3 times better.......which was the price differential between the two. Quote
Tango Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 The main question here is "have you got a Shoei shape head" six?.....you need to try some on the see if they fit ok..... Quote
Guest Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 The main question here is "have you got a Shoei shape head" six? He's definitely not got a Mod shaped head! Quote
fastbob Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 The main question here is "have you got a Shoei shape head" six?.....you need to try some on the see if they fit ok..... Dead on! that's the best advice so far.Fit is everything. As I recall Shoei used to fit a wider range of heads than some other brands but its years since I was a salesman so try as many lids as you can before deciding. Quote
CGD217 Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 I have a Shoei NXR (Bradley Smith Rep), it looks epic and is so comfortable. Wind noise is less than my on HJC IS-16. Quote
Six30 Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 Yeh I'll try a couple on , but think I agree with Xtremes comments , cause they are 3 times dearer don't make em 3 times better . Quote
