JustaTwist Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 I was walking along the canal and came across this. I’ve no idea what it is and have had a good google and can’t seem to identify it anywhere. Can anyone educate me on what it is? Quote

Can anyone educate me on what it is? Looks like Filippo Berio, but it could be a sesame oil bottle? Not sure tbh. Quote
Bender Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Muskavoy duck? Black duckDefinitely a bird though Quote
Smithers Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Could well be a crispy Duck if there's plenty of Chinese takeaways near there. Quote
dynax Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 If you're quick enough to find it again, could be Sunday lunch Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 (edited) What you have there is a Muscovy Duck. They come in various colours but the common identifier is the red eye patch.Probably descended from a released pet duck. Edited May 11, 2019 by Mississippi Bullfrog Quote
old-timer Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Muskavoy duck? Black duckDefinitely a bird though I found a picture under a bit different name, but it looks like we're talking about the same bird...It could be a 'Muscovy duck' though the one in the picture is a different colour than the one in your picture.Still, the shape of the head (which looks like it's screwed on later) and the red area seem to point that way. From the info I found I understood that it is a native New Zeeland bird... PS. I'm not a bird watcher, but I do like a puzzle sometimes... Quote

MarkW Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 The key diagnostic feature is the fact that it's clearly looking at something, so it's obviously a Peking duck. Quote

billy sugger Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 If Fastbob's cat got at it it would be a duck filled fatty puss Quote
