gymwitch Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Ian Frog i used all the things Yeah it looks all nice and not rusty. Hope it lasts a bit longer this time. I did use it all through winter though.
Ian Frog Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Looks good #Gym.I have struggled with black pipes before (Oooer Missus lol) and found that multiple thin coats of VHT backed up by BBQ paint have produced the best results.Your pipe is a credit to you young lady !CheersIan
Bianco2564 Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Took the fairing off the R1 and gave it all a good clean. And before you know it, I'd got the rear suspension out aswell.Didn't realise the suspension bolts were hollowAll back together.Degunged the side stand pivot and found those bolts hollow aswell. Found one of the suspension bearings and bush have seen better days so need to get ordering.
Throttled Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Splashed out £30 on a tiny bottle of touch up paint and lacquer for the frame and glad I did, because it is looking a lot smarter. The derusting work, from a wire brush (for cleaning spark plugs) on the brake discs to Kurust and touch up paint has gone far better than I thought it would.
Snod Blatter Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Cor a Mk3 Cavalier..!Brushed some oil on to the chain so it doesn't rust too much after yesterday's rain, pushed it around while braking to scrub off some of the rust, and then put it back. Bah.I nearly corrected the time on the dash but thought I'd save it for another day
S-Westerly Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Took its cover off. De-rusted the exhaust header and polished it along with the cat. Cleaned it again. Started it and ran it up to temperature then shut it down. Sob..
husoi Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 This thing have been staring at me for weeks so...Got the spanners, screwdriver, wire brush, SS scrub pad, sandpaper and 2 buckets out.A good lick of high temp spray paint Broom the floor twice to find the same nut that decided to go for a run.and 2 new bottles of anti-freeze later this was all back in place
S-Westerly Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Well my new MIVV exhaust has been delivered but unfortunately to Barnard Castle which is where I thought I would be. As I'm in Gloucestershire I've now got to get my daughter to forward it on. At least it's in the right country now.

Stu Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Rebuilt the front calipers yesterday with all new seals and new venhill braided brake lines these are much better than other lines in that you screw the banjo bolts to the lines so no more twisted brake lines and fighting to fit them

brad93 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Not motorbike itself but fitted my new dark visor to my helmet. Hopefully it’ll still be summer by the time I am actually allowed to go out on the bike!
