Connector Block Issue

If you look ok closely at the pic below you will see that the top left connector in the block is set back further than the rest, trouble is that although I push it back in place, as soon as I push the connector sides together it moves backwards again.

I’ve tried fiddling with the tang ( which in this case is moulded into the block ) but to no avail.

So would a drop of super glue fix this or had anyone got a better idea?

Either replace the block or remove that one connector to a separate one alongside, without having the plug in front of me that's my 2cents

Can you free the connector from the block to get a better look at what's wrong?

I wouldn't expect superglue to fare very well, any pulling/moving force seems to break it very easily.

Though replacement would be best I'm wondering if gorilla glue would do instead of superglue. It certainly sets a lot harder. [mention]Bender[/mention]s suggestion of using a seperate connector just for that wire is a very good one too which is what I'd do if glue didn't work

Yep, the connector comes out easily, which is the problem.

Epoxy resin may work better than super glue.

I had that problem after replacing a connector. When you pushed the connector together one of the wires was coming out. It was the tab on the terminal had been flattened and wasn't catching the plastic. Bending the tab out further fixed it in my case. Thanks for all the replies & suggestions.

After much tweaking, levering, bending & of course copious swearing, I got it to clip in firmly!!

I reckon it was the swearing wot done it

I have often found a bit of creative language does the trick

If all you had wanted to get it back together the once you really should be more specific, jam a screwdriver in the loose one and shove it together From that side.

I thought you were trying to do it properly

I didn't mention my usual bodge of jamming tin foil in it for same reasons
