Helllloooooo Xmas food

Took half an hour this morning to go from “You can eat everything..well, no, not that, that is for Xmas” to “Yes, I suppose it is Xmas and so you can eat all of it”.

She’s gone to work.

Course 1: croissants

Course 2. The salmon with something that isn’t croissants

Course 3. Everything else

Id be on the Bailey’s too, given that’s a breakfast/girl’s alcohol, but I need to be at the brewery for 10 to collect my Xmas beer.

I've just started making Xmas gravy which traditionally involves a few drinks with the daughter, unfortunately we've dropped our car off for MOT and tyres and it's going to need 2 sober folk to go pick it up, apparently even though the wife claims she does the work of 2 people in our house she is unable to collect the car on her own.

Today could get messy, merry Christmas 🎄 🎁 🍺

SO the little lady is still busy with work this year, being the thoughtful, caring bloke that I am, also to get some points on the board for next years asks,  offered to do a chunk of the Christmas shopping,

So we made a list, together,  apart from the essential food stuff,  I commented I didn't realise we had invited the whole of the village for Christmas dinner, new blender, coz the old one wont last another year, coffee bean grinder, because we don't have one!

A load of spices, that based on my 100 years of Christmas experiences have nothing to do with Christmas, I managed to keep the beast in the cage.

At the end of the list making exercise, I suggested, for the benefit of our relationship,  we revise the list to essentials, I have a very short shopping fuse,  she smiled and responded with, your not getting your 2025 bike pass with out some pain, suck it up!

How do they always know!

Will it's Christmas day for me and daughter.  Walk down high street for coffee then the local pub for lunch.

"Oh good choice I can drink in that one" says my 17yo daughter.

My eye brow raises "so I am told" she quickly adds.

Does anyone still do Boxing Day runs, or is that a thing of the past. We used to have the local vintage motorcycle club gathering, pea soup and a ride out.

We used to turn up at Matlock Bath car park for a hot drink and bacon role (we also used to take mince pies to share).

It went the same way as the annual rally - no-one can be bothered these days!

Well, I will just have to start my own ride out, up to the lakes. :beer2:
