Sadly most tools now aren't the same quality you could once get :???:

I mentioned this on my post about t-handled keys

People with tools older than 20 years should hang on to them like they are gold! They are made of much better metal. You can even see it in the more premium brands like Snap-On.

If you want decent tools that don't cost a bomb.... Check Halfords Pro/Expert range. Lifetime guarantee and the tools aren't bad either, had a couple of sets for many years now and only broke the 1/4 ratchet once and they replaced it without any issue.

I’ve got a Halfords Advanced socket set, so far the case was replaced when it cracked  ( I stepped on it ) & the T50 Torx bit snapped trying to undo Cylinder head bolts - both were replaced without any questions 👍
