Nope the design is much different,  yours are the style the that were used in the gold standard test, the ends dig into the middle and make it hard to cut, the ones used in the video shear more from the inside, making the cut very easily.

Not sure what you mean but mine cut exactly the same way as the ones in the video.

Jaws are different the ones you put up have a huge rounded end that cross way over each other, if you listen to the video, even they say they believe their cutters were successful where the ones the manufacturer tested ones weren't and it was probably down to the jaws, yours are designed more to trap the cable wrap round then cut.

 

It's all moot either way as angle grinder is tool of choice now, its easier to carry and guaranteed.

i would have thought that bolt crops would have been quieter to use

They are, but these days they don't appear to be bothered about that, carry cutters and your limited, carry a grinder and pick what you want.
