Christmas Day thread

Christmas didn't happen for us. Son froze in carpark at hospital until 0400 then came home. Daughter in law got sent home at 1400. No.4 grandchild decided he'd stay in the warm. My vote for him to be named Brian was shot down. So blackpudding tonight. At least there's cider. Christmas  will be held tomorrow, assuming Brian allows.

Girls had us up at 0700 hrs .. We let our daughter stay last night and to be honest it has been a great day. Best Yorkshire Sunday dinner with presents for years.

We've let the girls go to their mums tonight .... mmm not sure .. but we'll be picking them up at 1000hrs tomorrow ... Connor and I are nervous but Julie says we have to see what happens ..... Which usually means the girls being dropped of by the police in their PJ's at 3 am !!

Our 3 year old is home with his mummies, no heating or hot water, council say they will be out in 2-3 days ... not too good for a mum with stage 4 cancer and a 3 year old .... no doubt Covid will get the blame .....

But it has been a good day ... really

Seconded, that sounds a bit grim.

Sorry, sorry, ... it's not grim to us ... it's just the background noise of life .... I make it sound grim but don't mean too ... we've had a great day ....

No.4 grandchild arrived this morning finally at 0122. So for our family at least this dismal year ends on a high note!

Here's hoping that everyone else's  2021 is better too.

Congratulations to all the family!

No. there are two mid winters. One recognised by the meteorologists for whom winter begins on December 1st.  so, mid winter for them is 6 weeks after that. But that's only related to the weather. The traditional midwinters day is 21st. The shortest day of the year.

Now now peeps, 'tis the season of goodwill and all that. Just organising a Christmas bimble to New Brighton where hopefully we can find a bag of chips and some scooter riders to fight with on the beach. Must keep traditions alive.

Couldn’t fight my way out of the bag, so I’ll just have the chips.😀👍
