Charity food parcels...

My daughter is on a low income and lives in supported / secure housing ... It’s a nice 3 bed semi but she has someone visit her 2 -3 times a week.
She was told she was eligible for a weekly food parcel, which she was thankful for and has been a help ....
Until this week ....... Pictured is the full contents of her food parcel ....
She’s not complaining ... just baffled ... We’ve found good homes for it ...

What a strange food parcel to receive .... certainly not what you'd expect! Good stuff and nice that she's getting it but I would have thought it would have been something more substantial? 🤔

It comes from a local Christian charity .. there’s absolutely no complaints, usually there a good mix of basic veg, pasta and meat products ... but sometimes it does seem to go awry .. one week last month she had a catering pack of smoked mackerel , a catering pack of kippers and a whole melon ..:classic_biggrin: ..
We do swaps for her ....

Part of it may be due to problems with collecting goods under current restrictions. Our food donations have been all over the place recently. But that shouldn't have gone through the system all the same. Kirkland is Costco brand so I guess they got given a load of stuff from there.

It depends on what the business/supermarket/ trader is getting shut of/donating.

Start panicking when the tins with no labels appear.. food roulette. Seen this. Swear down they'd come from Russia.....
