Macro Photography

It's not something I have particularly had much experience with specifically, I have done close up work but nothing that would be classed as true macro.

Given my current frustrations I thought I might have closer look at macro ( pun intended  ), as my fisheye lens has a removeable macro lens I thought I would give it a go, attached it to my Panasonic FZ45 and took a few shots of a couple of subjects, no tripod was used these are just handheld so there is some blurriness to some of them :thumb:

2 things you want to consider.

Tripod and manual focus.

Yes I know, I was just experimenting without getting caught up too much into the technical side.

That's like riding a bike without helmet just to see if you like it... :P

Half the fun is in experimenting and probably the best way to learn, and you can hardly compare a genre of photography with the above.

Of course you can :)

I just did. 😂

I was lucky years ago in finding a semi professional tripod for a tenner in a charity shop.

But experiment using the wrong technique is not as fun as exploring the limits using the adequate equipment.

If you use one maybe you find a hidden talent. :thumb:

Having said that, the photos are good considering is a first go

There’s a comment in Derry Brabbs’ photos of the Lake District book (I think it’s the Wainwright’s Fells book) that brings to mind.

It’s something along the line of knowing things are not going well when you start photographing interesting moss formations.

PS. As a non-photographer, I like the idea of the macro photos.
