Don't listen to this lot . It's a CG 125 . The only thing I can see that's altered is that someone has painted the engine and mudguard black .

Yeah, it looks and feels like a CG 125 but there is just a few things that through me off, the main thing being that on the DVLA form it is registered as a CT125 and also the fact the VIN number is too short and doesn't show up in any vehicle searches

That's my main concern tbh

Just give insurance company the reg … will come up with what bike it should be , it’s probably been imported to uk at some point .

You should do all your checks before you buy a vehicle 👍

Don't worry about what model it is . Just call it a CG 125 .

It's a CG and more than likely a Turkish model just before they did a tank change and added electric start on the later 2002 onwards model. Purely based on my own research as the Turkish model was the only one to have the square headlight, but it is possible that could have been changed during the course of it's life, in which case it could be a Brazil model originally fitted with a round headlight.

Most of the parts say made in Japan, is this normal for the Turkish model?

If you have a look about, these were imported in 1997 (I think) and not registered until later.

Yours is spot on except for the iffy painting and the seat.

Yep, looks the same! I can't see the difference in the seat, what is it i'm looking at?

My GSXR 1100 was registered as being 11,000 cc for years .

A mix of both at this point. Done checks on the person who sold it to me, but since it was my first bike, I had not idea what I would need to check prior to purchasing the bike

Ok fine , but you have the entire internet at your disposal . To the best of my knowledge , I don't think any of the participating members here have a CG 125 . I've renovated and sold on 9 of them but that was years ago before prices went silly . To find the picture I supplied I just googled 2001 CG 125 and there it was . I'm not trying to make you feel unwelcome here but have you considered joining a CG125 enthusiasts Facebook group ?

I've scoured the internet, and found a few answers but it mainly left me with more questions and I felt there were specific areas relating to my situations that I couldn't clear up. Just googling and finding a Honda that looks the same or one that does not from the same year doesn't really help in any way, as it's the finer details that don't match or make sense, not the general look of the bike (this can be modified or be counterfeit copy). From all the members who've already answered, it's actually pretty much given me the answers I was looking for and been very helpful. I thought the point of this forum was to ask these types of questions, am I mistaken? I don't have Facebook.

Ok , what bits have got made in Japan on them ?  It should be just about everywhere if you look closely . Have a look under the side panels and on the wheel rims for instance .

Did you buy it in Maidstone by any chance ?

Perhaps Its been imported look at first year registration is 2001 so brought to uk  as 2001 would be 51 plate or Y

The 4 down gearbox is consistent with this being a genuine Honda " Nostalgia " model built in Japan .

Just try some insurance comparison sites chuck the reg in and see if you get a quote. You should be fine and parts readily available
