RandomBob Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Have a 20 plate Benelli TRK 502x which has been a great ride, until now. It's developed a horrendous vibration in the footpegs. Present when idle and actually causes me pain in my left knee when going anything about 20 mph. Have changed the sprockets and chain. Everything is where it should be. Had new tyres fitted few weeks ago which were working fine. I've checked the rims and brakes so have run out of the easy ideas. Anyone got a suggestion ? If I can't get this worked out I'm going to have to spend lots of money at a workshop or sell the bugger as it's genuinely painful... Quote
Fiddlesticks Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Did it start after the new tyres were fitted? Were the wheels balanced correctly? 2 Quote
billy sugger Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 (edited) Check wheel balance weights are still there if you had the wheels balanced whe new tyres were fitted Fiddlesticks replied as I was typing Edited September 22, 2022 by billy sugger 2 Quote
Bender Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 If its present at idle and not moving its not wheels and tyres, engine mounts? 1 Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Are you sure both cylinders are firing? From a cold start spray some water on each header, make sure they are both the same temperature. 1 Quote

Pie man Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 I'm not convinced the Chinese have ability to produce a quality product even if it is in the disguise of an Italian 1 1 Quote
RandomBob Posted September 22, 2022 Author Posted September 22, 2022 From speaking to friends think the engine mounts are next in line. Wheels were balanced at time so should be good. If its internal then its off to the workshop. Thanks folks Italian/Chinese engineering...what could go wrong ?! 1 Quote
johnjackson1949 Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 2020 TRK502 rear wheel hub is wrongly, not concentric, machined, This is creating a vibration through ..whole bike & handle bars. Waiting to claim Warranty !!! Quote

Guest Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 (edited) sorry for being so facetious no intent intended. I've never owned a parallel twin but they are renound for the big vibration almost bought a Suzuki TL 1000 and that's the reason I didn't. I just don't like twin cylinder bikes. Ducatis look lovely but I would never buy one. the honda CX 500 worst bike honda ever made. mho Edited January 23, 2024 by Vic101 Quote
