I want to clarify my intentions here. While I may not have chosen the best section for this post, I believe sharing my journey can add value to others who share the same passion for adventure. I know posting YouTube videos on forums isn’t always encouraged, but if the content aligns with the forum's niche, I think it can contribute positively to the community.

As a travel YouTuber, there are substantial costs involved in making a successful adventure. Currently, my channel covers only a coffee or 10 liters of petrol, while the expenses add up quickly—motorcycle rentals can cost around $800, fuel is $500, flights are $700, and there are also accommodation and food costs. I hope this helps provide a realistic view of what goes into making YouTube content.

Bringing views from forums and social media to my channel is part of my marketing approach, but I aim to do so respectfully and without spamming. Making money from YouTube wasn’t my primary goal, but if it works, why not? Many companies today openly ask for tips, so why shouldn’t a YouTuber consider it as well?

I don't know how to reply to a specific post, so I just place my response wherever I find space. Someone else might think like me; I posted a YouTube video here on the forum, which some may see as inappropriate because I want to bring views from this platform and make money using people's time. However, maybe I misunderstood the situation.

@travelmatees

Your post wasn't inappropriate the trouble we have on forums is people join up and post a video to gain followers and earn wonga without actually contributing to the forum!

This sort of thing does wind people up but stick around get stuck in and keep posting those videos 👍

So, could you please clarify if it’s allowed to post in just one section and, ideally, within the same topic and page each time, without creating multiple topics regularly?

You posted in the right section so don't worry there and if you do post in the wrong place we will move it if need be.

It's up to you if you start a new topic or post in an old one there is no hard fast rules

As the OP on this thread I figured I would comment.

When I started this post there had been a rash of people doing just what you had, joining posting there channel and leaving.

You have done better than them, you actually read enough to see the post vaguely about yourself.

Many make there post “market” themselves and leave.  As some one has said forums are about contributing not just V blogs etc that are 100’s of all over the net.

Yea Better done than many but still the same problem so this isn’t a particular dig at yourself but just saying it out while the subject is here.

guess so there are a few ways to approach this?

the hard act is you and others (joined for free or the bare minimum) but with the main goal to promote/advertise this project of yours to gain income from this.
If that is so your advertising on a different platform that is paid for by others ,so the hard rule that could be argued maybe a fee or donation for using it as the cost of this platform is not cheap, nor a business as such but individuals taking their own time and money to do this.

if your not prepared to pay a fee then the least is to put a word out or logo on Yt of this forum to advertise this place…? That would be merely out of decencies?

the soft rule could be that you and others cannot do that (profile locked) until higher levels of monies (and or a regular fee) or a proper cap of post/content is put on first?

their are other ways but I’ve just shorthanded them.

I loath video bloggers. My conspiracy freak/anti vax wackjob cousin is one, all about radiating positive energies and holistic cereal and wearing white and smiling. And asking people for their money. And constantly filming during family events. She is the most uneducated member of the family, very dim, very shrill. Thing is it’s all about the cult of personality, and you’re being asked to love them as much as they pretend to love themselves. Nah.

I’ll watch tip videos where I can see what someone does to do something - usually with the sound off - and then do it. Maybe I should film myself doing it and add in some interesting wit, post it online. I R video blogger too. Buy me a koffe, go fund me, I’ll be your sugar baby. Spank me daddy.

I have to give our latest some points for cheek.  Join a forum first post and start begging for money to buy a top of the range bike that costs more than most of our bikes.

Did you approve the " In & Motion" post for the same reason?

Is it a seasonal thing? One hit wonders here....

Just can't get my head round this. I want a decent bike so I'll mooch off some other poor saps? I wouldn't give them a bent brass washer.

If we're going to be picky we prefer merchant seaman. Sailors are WAF idiots.
