Hoped it was simply a replace the relays issue - but I'm buggered if I can find any. Given the loud *clack*, I'm thinking solenoid repair or starter motor replace. And given it's a Harley, I don't have the tools - so off it will go to a shop. I've spoken to my wallet to prepare it for the shock to come. 2 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted Thursday at 14:14 Posted Thursday at 14:14 I think you may need the crime number and victim support group for your wallet. 2 Quote

Simon Davey Posted Thursday at 14:42 Posted Thursday at 14:42 Fingers crossed for you @Joe85 I think mine took three weeks to come through, I'd forgotten about it too. 1 Quote

I think there is a 14 day limit. So if it's after that you can challenge it. If it went to court how you prove you didn't receive it within 14 days is the question. It is a technicality which a court may not uphold. But generally if you get to 15 days you can count yourself lucky. 2 Quote

I would but the solenoid/starter motor is hidden behind the battery. Plus, I'm fancying a permanent fix rather than something to get me to break down somewhere further away from home 1 Quote

Unfortunately it’s 14 days from the offence to the point of the NIP being issued, so knowing what the postal service is like these days, who knows how long it might take to arrive. Quote

Various sources I've read say the 14 days means the NIP must be received within 14 days. Not issued. I'm no expert but there's several legal advice websites that say the tome limit applies to delivery rather date of issue. 2 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted Thursday at 21:15 Posted Thursday at 21:15 Family member used to issue many actions through the system, Id have to ask her. off memory it was how flippant the county was but as a rough guide in her area it was internally 7 days from the offence to the process and out the door it would be safe to say conviction within the 14 days total. as a grey area if you was just over 1-2mph they might not be as bothered but if you was really naughty you’d be bang to rights regardless, region dependent. now once again area dependent, if it was really busy it was a lucky dip if your picture was within the randomly picked batch to process. Apparently. 2 Quote
S-Westerly Posted Friday at 10:47 Posted Friday at 10:47 My most recent one was on the doormat about 5 days after I got done but that was a bike cop with a mobile camera not a fixed one. I was in car though and as he was only using a front view camera if I'd been on bike I'd have been clear. Quote
Fiddlesticks Posted Friday at 14:34 Posted Friday at 14:34 Today we put 19.9L of unleaded in the Explorer. Not especially interesting, except that it only has a 20L tank. Northumbria is beautiful, but not exactly littered with petrol stations. And the cruise control is fixed 4 Quote
Simon Davey Posted Friday at 15:12 Posted Friday at 15:12 So, what was the fix, in the end? @Fiddlesticks Also, how did you get your tank down to 100ml? 1 Quote

I think the trick was to disassemble the rear brake switch, clean up all the contacts, re-seat it and adjust it properly. Then reset the error code again, turn on the ignition and activate both brake and cruise control switches before starting the engine. Getting your tank down to 100ml is surprisingly easy to do - you just plan a fuel stop at a rural petrol station that's only open on a Tuesday afternoon... And then keep going Edited Friday at 20:58 by Fiddlesticks 5 Quote

Mississippi Bullfrog Posted Saturday at 15:22 Posted Saturday at 15:22 And back home....so far we've raised over £6,000 enough to send 6 bikes to the Congo. I suspect more will come over the next few days. Someone contacted me suggesting they would fund another bike once the paperwork is done. Met some great people. One guy came all the way from Edinburgh to support the ride. Lots of interesting bikes, one of favourites because I used have one..... 5 Quote

They very much are. Not least because we aren't dictating what they have. We're funding what they know works for them, including servicing costs. 1 1 Quote
