Don’t want a return to the Eighties where I was innocently on the rough end of ‘Coppers Instinct’ and told “Tough Shit” when they were proved wrong. Davidtav Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Well I too would be wary of extra powers being misused. However if there is evidence such as a tracker showing that a vehicle is in a certain location. Then the police should be able to search that location without needing to apply for a warrant. Same goes for mobile phone thefts. Quote

I, like a few of you have mentioned, am warry of giving any authority the rights of entry to folks homes without proper due cause, but in the case of Motorbike theft and use abuse, in my manor, this is a huge problem, and I am aware of biker folks, who cant get to work, travel, because some little scrot has decided stealing a bike is a better option than earning the money to buy one. The owner then has to deal with the hassle and stress of the insurance process, and potentially loss of no-claims etc. It needs stopping, and as much as I applaud the local bikers who have organised patrols to catch bike thief's, we all know who is going to get to visit the guy with wig on after the event, coz if they have my mentality, the scrot wouldn't just get a verbal warning! Tough call either way. Quote
RideWithStyles Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Agree with bender but if you don’t, you definitely won’t. maybe it leads than the state the justice system now: sometimes the police and court have to spend more time on the case than the scum gets….. the court having more of an impact of say instead giving a measly three months for an offence out of the maximum 6 yet out in a week or two on “good behaviour” as it is in the book written long ago before the words crimm’s and rozzers or anyone got near the moon. which is a waste of everyone time, money and effort, so maybe it could put pressure on to increase its given amount to say minimum of a year no early release? You never know we life in hope…. I’m with David, I think some are looking too far and beyond what is actually worded. maybe some have had rough time with the police I understand but it’s very few and far between that could still happen regardless of this but at least more could be done about the bigger problem. well you know what someone will say, if you’ve done nowt wrong, you have nothing to fear….
