    Chain noise

where is the noise front back middle? if it sounds like its middle of the bike near your feet your chain might be too tight and under braking getting tighter as the rear suspension reaches full extension and causing noise on the front sprocket/output bearing

eh! Fozzie the R125 is a 4 stroke you cant compare it to that! I agree with changing the plug and air filter also check out the HT lead make sure that is in good nick and good connection while your at it these arent things that will be picked up on MOT an MOT is purely to make sure its safe for road use
  5. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sourc ... 15&iwloc=A a bit far and cold for me
  6. thats the only thing FT is good at is boots and textiles i have a textile jacket and its spot on same as the other halfs textile trousers its just the leathers that fall apart!!

    rear axle bolt

my brothers 99 bandit had a 22/24mm on it
  8. just hope your battery is ok jo the cold can get to it really quickly and it wont hold a charge hence why us summer riders keep them on an optimate just hope your lucky and dont need a new battery good idea charging it every few days
  9. it could be that the carbs are empty and taking time to fill up properly with it running out doesnt usually take long though some people will say you have dragged crap through into the carbs with it running out of fuel but seen as though fuel is drawn from the bottom of the tank and fuel filters are designed to catch any crap i always hard to believe its possible as any crap would just sit at the bottom of the tank anyway but it doesnt mean it hasnt got crap in the lines and blocked carbs i would give it a few more goes if no luck i would start checking fuel is getting through properly and then strip the carbs for a quick clean up
  10. well fuel is getting through as and you have a spark as you have a back fire has it been sat for a length of time? and what bike is it ? the carbs could be gummed up and need cleaning they may not be enough fuel getting through
  11. sounds to me like the alarm is ok if its dissarming and arming and the bike is trying to fire! Usually the immobiliser side is on the ignition so the bike wont even try to fire sometimes it wont even turn over depending on how the immobiliser is wired in they usually protect two circuits also you dont have to remove the fuse to remove the battery
  12. No i simply went to the NEC bike show and played them all off against each other that was 2 years ago though just before Arai decided to increase prices
  13. hmmmm i got my dean thomas chaser rep for £250
  14. give it a little clean up first and see if the can is pitted if it is and you want to do a good job of it get some wet and dry sand paper start with something like P360 to remove the heavy marks on there then go for a P600 and finish with a really fine one P1200/P1500 thats the easy bit out the way!! then get yourself some autosol and polish the hell out of it!! it takes a lot of elbo grease but the finish will be as good as new
  15. every bike ive had or played with has the clutch cable as described above! If i was you i would replace the cable and adjust properly talk to your dealer to see how the cable is supposed to go or check with someone who has the same bike! If you still get slip i would say the plates are in need of replacement along with the springs!

  17. if your doing it for fun and can afford it then as roy says club racing google it but if you want to be competative and try to win you have to be good!! theres a big diffrence between been really quick on track days and been quick in racing the pace is unreal!!! even at 125 level ive been riding 7 years and wouldnt have a go at racing not trying to put you off if you are really up for it then start by doing a few track days to get the feel of track riding to put things in perspective on price i know someone who races a 400 and spends 3k each time he rebuilds his engine!! he is building up engine number 3 for next year now so thats 9k in engines!! then theres tyres he usually goes through a set a race meeting sometimes more! then fuel but he is racing to win the championship for the class he races in!!
  18. i have a frank thomas 2 peice and its crap i had an RST before it that was ace ive had two FT suits the first one got took back 6 times for repair in the first 6 months then replaced for their latest ones now these have been back 3 times for repair and still need repairing again!!! out or warrenty now though!! the RST suit i had was spot on never had a problem with that and stood up really well in a 90 mph ish slide on tarmac would have got another but the sizing is a bit funny on their new gear and couldnt get one to fit properly!!!

    NEC bike show

well im not going now!! i was on holiday for a week when it started but they have asked me to work!! and gave me xmas off and a few days extra pay
  20. have ypu checked the disk yourself ? Or just going on what the MOT guy has said? Ive known MOT testers machines to be faulty!
  21. does it jerk forward when you put it in first when it doesnt cut out ? or does it only jerk when first put in to gear then cuts out? if it only jerks forward the first time its put in then cuts out i would start looking at the clutch plates as it sounds as though they are sticking together and only freeing off when put in gear an oil change can sometimes solve this if it jerks all the time when put in gear check the side stand switch as it may not be releasing properly first time
  22. leave it on all the time especially in the colder months as the cold will drain the battery and you will need a new one come summer time with a decent battery maintainence charger it will just charge it when it needs it and keep it topped up mine is put on after every ride and left till i next need the bike in winter it is just left on till my first ride once summer comes
  23. i would go up on the back rather then down on the front you may need a link or two longer chain if you go down on the front it can cause more wear on the chain and it will wear through the chain gaurd quicker on the swingarm and possible wear in to the swinger!! Ive seen it happen on a bike before

the ABS is only that extra little wire that you can see with a sensor everything else should be the same just be sure not to twist the wire or damage the sensor or wiring
