  1. Thank you for your input good people
  2. Knows me so well
  3. Thanks guys, these were my thoughts too, I'll pop along there this afternoon. I just had a most horrible thought, maybe I'm growing up
  4. Do you torque, or do you do "tight enough" for the small stuff, and 'kin tight for the big stuff. Have to confess, I've always been an advocate of the above but, I've recently stripped my front brake calipers and fitted new seals, polished the pliers marks left by the previous "mechanic", fitted new pads etc. Manual says to use non permanent thread lock and torque to 25nm etc. I don't have a small enough torque bar, or thread lock, so I did the main bolts, 'kin tight. Now though, I'm thinking, bike with me on is >350kg, along with the the possibilities of having to anchor up at high speeds, maybe I should nip off to Halfords and get the thread lock and torque bar. I get £25 off using my trade card.
  5. Just think bike, and open sunny roads. Maybe the missus too, I suppose.
  6. Have a great time, send us all a postcard
  7. At least we know you're a normal person.....
  8. Noooooo, it can't happen, I can't pee in front of other people...
  9. If the float sticks with the valve in the open position, it should come out of the overflow spout at the bottom, unless that's blocked. Then, it'll just flood the carb/engine. I'd put money on a fuel line leak further up, or the fuel tap, and that it's just running down to the carb body.
  10. Only ever read good stuff about the F800GS. From what I've seen on YouTube, it's one of those bikes you get if "you know". Congratulations.
  11. Hello and welcome to the forum. Welcome also, to a new world of excitement and wonder. Not to mention a new drain on your wallet
  12. Congratulations! That's a great blue

    Hello

    Welcome to the forum...
  14. Respect.... And glad you had what looks like a great day.
  15. Yes, they seemed bomb proof, probably why the were the despatch riders choice, in the days when cities were full of despatch riders showing off their skills. Followed by the Kawasaki GT550 (I had one that did run).
  16. Seeing a thread about a CX500 frame reminded me.... 35 years ago, I swapped a fish tank for a non-running CX500, but I never had the time to get it roadworthy. I had a DT125 so wasn't desperate to get it going. A "friend" of my neighbour offered to take it of my hands, and I my girlfriend's mum was glad to see it gone. Two weeks later, bang bang bang on the front door at 03:00, coppers wanting to arrest bleary eyed little me for some robbery or something, they reckoned they'd chased me up the Uxbridge road on that CX500
  17. Very neat and tidy
  18. Thanks @Geordie OldieI'll have a look at Readly. Thing is with magazines, they offer too many opportunities to spend money.
  19. Maybe there's nowhere for them to plug in their tool.....
  20. That's excellent, are you a life coach? If not, you should be...
