So you've enough time to fiddle arse about modding on here but clearly not enough to mod your prospective son-in-law. Sounds like he needs a ban! Outrageous. As a service to the forum, I will continue avoiding maintaining the CG for another year and we'll see if it pops.

RANT: Why is the average biker so aggresive.
Mr Fro replied to potatobroxd's topic in Motorbike Chat
I don't see the problem. Bike = small, appliance = big. Besides, it would give the firemen something to do other than fit double glazing. -
25 hp might be fine for tootling about but when you're stuck behind granny mittens dawdling along a nsl road, 25 hp just isn't enough to zip past in any reasonable length of time.

You know what they say mate - you can't miss something you've never had.

It's in Kent near Tonbridge. As a point of interest, it's entirely possible to drift a Sierra Cosworth turbo round the corner of Goods Station Road (past the post office), go sideways down Grosvenor Road, flick it the other way and slide nicely past the Tesco Metro and it to Hanover Road. Another interesting thing. That Tesco is the only one I know of with the carpark on the roof that's accessed by a car lift.

Surely more power is more better? I don't see the point in buying a bike only to spend loads of time and money trying to squeeze a few puny extra hp out of it. Either buy a powerful bike in the first place or fit a turbo/supercharger. I'm guessing the guy in the OP was doing a normal, run of the mill bimble about rather than giving it a decent rip. Also, there are times when mo powah is beneficial to [strikeout]cane it up the inside of someone[/strikeout] extricate oneself from a tricky situation.

Wouldn't have happened if.......... These new mods are working out well so far.

Yeah, tidies it right up. Get a move on geofferz, I need it gone before some new equipment arrives!

I've been using Bikesure for years. I told them about the ZXR mods at renewal and they weren't phased. Front and rear suspension, gearing, bodywork mods... and a turbo. They just asked if it went faster - I told them no, it just gets to the max speed sooner. Didn't make a jot of difference to the price.

I could stand it no longer, I've put some new mudguards on: Don't have to take them off for storage now. Anyone interested? Cheers, Fro

You want Newmarket mate, it's heaving with not-too-picky clunge. Especially if you go to Heaven "gentlemen's club"... Thetford is good for camping if you're up that way.

You can't polish a turd you know But you can roll it in glitter.

I thought you said that you'd already have an in-depth input on how to use an index...

Grab corner, bend, done! Mine are are apparently high security and have some sort of insulated powers. I think they were about 1800 for two. I particularly like them because one remote controls both doors independently.
-
I can't really see how a bung would flip a bike unless something else is going on. I can see how it could bend or twist the frame if it caught a kerb while skidding along.

Jealous! I'd love a roller garage door. Get one then! I had some Hormann doors fitted, they're really not that expensive. The cost is more than outweighed by not having to suffer the indignity of hauling open a scabby old up-and-over.

You've got so much space in there - I demand to know why it's not crammed full of bikes, tools, biking paraphernalia and more bikes.

Trust me, it's very easy to get "involved"!

There's always a deal to be done mate! Don't forget that trailer Stu was talking about too.

I like the attitude! I did my first day on my road bike but came away feeling a bit deflated because I knew that I wasn't pushing it anywhere near as hard as I wanted. A few weeks later I bought the ZXR and from then on I was hammering round and loving every lap because I didn't really give a shit if I binned it. For the cost of a couple of days hire you can buy something ready to go (wife justification) so there's really no point in hiring if you're going to do a few. Did you notice that I've got a some track day stuff up for sale?

Next up in the track day clear out are my diamond tyre warmers. I thought I bought these only a couple of years back but the label says 2016 so I must be mistaken! Anyway, I've used these once only so they're pretty much as new condition. No tears, wearing, burns or damage - just a bit of fluff from the carpet. I plugged them in to check they work and they're absolutely spot on, they click on and off just as they should. The front is standard 120: The rear is 180 - 190, what you'll find on most 600ish sports bikes: If you've looked at warmers then you'll know Diamond are about the best. I plugged them in to a little genny and used them between sessions and the difference compared to going out on cold tyres was fantastic! A set of these new will set you back about £225. I'm asking £170 so a decent saving considering they've only been used the once. Cheers, Fro

I'm clearing out the garage of track day stuff so my trailer is up for grabs. It's got a tilting bed and a short ramp which makes loading a bike on single handed very easily. The wheel holding bit at the front holds a 120 tyre snugly and securely to allow the bike to stand up unassisted while you whip round to strap it down. It's got an outrigger at the front to strap the bars to and the rear can be strapped around the axle. Using 4 decent straps the bike is nice and solid. I've been all over with it no problems - even the run up to Cadwell didn't cause any issues. It comes apart easily so it can be stored upright against a wall. The base frame is the heaviest bit but I can pick it up and I'm not exactly strong these days. Upright it'll just fit under my garage door so can be squeaked in that way if space is really tight (which it is for me!). I fitted new tyres the previous summer and have done a total of one track day since then so they're basically new. The only shabby bits are the mudguards - they're obviously too big and one of them is a bit busted. I've been meaning to replace them but haven't got round to it. I take the mudguards off for storage (3 bolts each) but with smaller ones I wouldn't bother. One of the lights has a little chunk out of it too. Both of these are cheap, easy fixes. I've not seen a tilting bed collapsible one like this go for sensible money so given the mudguards are iffy I'm looking for £250. Cheers, Fro Edit: I forgot to say I'm near Bury st Edmunds.

Looking forward to it mate! Have fun!

Is it? I thought it was resistant to brake dust. Good to know if it's fluid resistant too!
