  1. You don't need to go crazy with it i.e. attacking it with sandpaper - you might be able to rub the paint off now before it dries with a bit of thinners if you have any.
  2. Dude, you don't want to paint the mating surfaces where the calipers bolt together!
  3. I'm so sorry. Do you want me to send you a box of Twinings or something?
  4. Didn't they have any proper tea?
  5. You can spend a few hours with wet & dry to get rid of the oxidation and old paint then give them a fresh coat of paint. Depends how much it bothers you I suppose.
  6. That's what I thought.
  7. As Onesea said, a top box all the way. I've got one on my 125 just for shoving my uni bag in. It's not glamorous but it does the job perfectly, gets the weight off your back and keeps your stuff dry.

    Use of WD40

The only time I use dubya is when I'm bluing. I don't think it's much use for anything else.
  9. What happens when you run the fuel pump manually while trying to start it?
  10. Screwfix no nonsense degreaser is really good (and cheap).
  11. And she's been dead for years. I hope whatever it was was done tastefully and with respect.
  12. Aaaaah, what did I miss?
  13. You can do it on the starter, just be prepared for a good squirt of petrol from the spark plug hole of the leaky carb - best to stick a rag or some kitchen paper over it before you do it. Take all the plugs out first. You can disconnect the spade connectors from the coils if you want to be extra safe.
  14. Whimps! It's not a proper job unless you have a hand full of bits and bobs left over when you're done... weight saving you know.
  15. Yep. The company I bought the hangers for the track bike from wanted some snaps. If I'd have realised what they were going to do with them I would have asked for a discount!
  16. I'm also interested in this, I have a "friend" who wants to digitalise some "special interest" videos...
  17. I'm using Tractol for the lathe and Tekaloid for the panelling so it's a little different to Hammerite and hopefully a faaaaaar better finish given the price of the stuff!
  18. Prepared and started painting up the bits up for the lathe stand I'm building. Even though I had both garage doors wide open I had a good dose of fumes with the paint and thinners. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a bit of a ragged paint job but so long as it keeps things from rusting then it'll do!
  19. I had the same thing with my turbo bike. One the floats got stuck and a few litres of fuel ended up in the sump. I only noticed because it didn't want to turn over as one of the cylinders was full of fuel. Whip the plugs out and spin the engine over to get rid of any fuel that might be in there and definitely have a look at the carbs!
  20. Does your phone not support WiFi calling In theory yes, but the internet is delivered by pigeon every third Wednesday and of late it’s had a poorly wing so things have been slow. Sounds even worse than mine! I get no signal at home or work so have a box plugged in to my wifi that sometimes works so my phone is only really useful as a phone now and again. EE gave me a discount on my package because of it mind you.

    Hello!

Some of us have to take what we can get mate.
  22. Nice bike. Shit floor.
  23. Well I've had the track bike (with admittedly somewhat passed their best fork tubes) strapped down very firmly for a couple of hours at a stretch without any leakage. I've done that may times so I'd say that's a load of fuff.
