    Running very rich

Not much experience on bikes carbs but I have seen more problems on outboard carbs caused by people tinkering (they can be swines to set up)... Do you know if it was running fine in history? My experience is in not playing with carbs easy suggestions: Visual inspection have look for differences between Fresh fuel, Check air filter is in reasonable nick, Drain carb bowls (screw underneath), If you can disconnect fuel hose near carbs check for good fuel flow, Check change any fuel filter, Check choke and throttle operation looks same on all carbs smooth not sticking, Check plugs if all look the same, if they do its common across all cylinders fault could be else where. Dose of Redex or similar, Italian tune up (get her warm open her up and pull some fuel through), Try the choke with the engine warm and some revs on (don't do it in first as if it stalls you could lock back wheel), If no improvement after the above take carbs to someone who knows what they are doing! Unless maybe its sticking float switches (Needle valves) in the bowls thats a relatively easy fix. On my bike the carbs would have to come off if I where to do this so I would probably just get them looked at!
  2. Its not that windy here yet... Looking at the forecast: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/marine-inshore-waters#iw7 Inshore waters and strong winds Issued at 1200 UTC on Wednesday 22 February 2017 Selsey Bill to Lyme Regis Strong winds are forecast 24 hour forecast: Wind West or southwest 6 to gale 8, occasionally severe gale 9 for a time later. 3. Not arguing I grew up in the north I have felt and seen some of the turmoil left behind, even if I was not in the thick of it. Just think she gets victimised far more than required it's almost a fashion statement.. Big changes and losing any industry is going to cause problems so is supporting them just to keep jobs. Politicians to get elected need to please every one to be good need to make decisions that wont. There will always be 2 sides. Even now May cannot go into negotiations telling the Truth... Same as selling your house you believe its worth £100 you market it for £110 what you dont say is but know is it needs to be sold in 2 months and you need to get £50. Now she is being asked to give away all her negotiating chips before starting the talks... Oh sorry yeah this is just about thatcher yeah she was terrible as terrible as any other politician....
  4. I rarely do political.... Thatcher made many tough decisions when she left, the country was in a better state then when she became PM.... Look at what followed. If only our politicians today could actually do the same, make decisions and get on with the job in hand. Instead of worrying about pleasing every one..
  5. A guy in down the pub his stuff is good. Although some times the man in the park, he's cheaper but you get what you pay for...
  6. Right I am back and updating as promised... Interestingly I had to do factory reset on the way home it was doing odd things.... Glitchy but good is my answer if you want to talk to others and have music PACKTALK If you want to talk to your Pillion ONLY and not have music go cheap, unless you want coms over 60 mph... I have no experience with Sena but as its said not to be water proof.... My review... https://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=61488&p=980721#p980721 Any questions ask... https://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=61488&p=980721#p980721
  7. After more use Yes Communication up to the speed limit of fine, we can do a long day 8-10 hours Talking intercom by the end of the day we are getting low battery alarms (never had flat battery). Once set up talking to others on other bikes is useful. The chat over coffee can continue long after coffee. Changes in routes/ destinations can be discussed. If riding in a bigger pack as leader the other bike can be your eyes as to if every one is with you. And No. The system is not without its limitations, and can be a frustrating. If you have any problems Cardo Support is good for set up issues. If you regularly change riding groups it can be frustrating. The controls can be difficult for certain features. Updating with some comments to and from Cardo, who must be learning to hate me I hope it makes sense... At the beginning of the day people are normally busy chatting and getting ready, the time taken to pairing headsets is quite low on the agenda (2-3minutes per set). We are used to riding in groups without com's so it is not essential but can be enjoyable/ useful. Pairing with other people is a feet I am brave enough to do, and sometimes have some success they give me there phone and helmet and I have a coffee on my own.. If I am not there and have not set it up they generally dont bother... Switching intercom pairings/groups can be challenging as this depends very much on the capability of the device you are connecting with. The scala rider TeamSet PRO is not compatible with the scala rider PACKTALK – you will not be able to connect these devices for intecom use. DMC intercom shouldn’t drain the battery life more than Bluetooth intercom. DMC conversations are always active, so it would drain faster than having the device on and in stand-by mode or using other features, but the PACKTALKs are rated at 10-13 hours of talk time regardless of which intercom mode is being used. As far as entering channel ‘B’ pairing mode, you are correct that you would press and hold the Intercom button until the device flashes red rapidly. As soon as the rapid red flash appears, you need to release the Intercom button and then immediately double tap it to enter channel ‘B’ pairing mode, where the red flash will change to rapid blue. The biggest thing here is timing – you do not want to pause after the device enters channel ‘A’ pairing mode or between taps of the Intercom button after or else the device will remain in channel ‘A’ mode and begin to look for other devices to pair with that channel. I can tell you that the One+8 buddy intercom system isn’t capable of communicating with more than one partner at a time and I don’t believe that is something that could be adjusted with a software update, but I’d be happy to pass your feedback for all of those points along to our development team. Functions that would be nice (if it does not cause more glitches): Ability to chat to multiple 8+1 buddies or at least one paired unit and 1 8+1 buddy. Ability to load your 8+1 buddies from your phone so that if you do factory reset on the road they all come back. Same with radio stations, having them stored on phone app so you can update presets from phone and Laptop. We aren’t aware of any issues with the Cardo Updater 3.0.1 not being able to connect with devices. What operating system are you using on your computer? Which internet browser are you using? Does the page ask you to ‘Connect your device to USB’ on the left side under ‘My Connected Device’? (I have since found it does not like the long USB cable the unit was supplied with) RDS only retunes to the strongest signal for the same station – so it will only adjust the frequency if the station you are listening to broadcasts on different frequencies and different areas. It will not tune to a different station. Music sharing can only be done in Bluetooth intercom mode whenever the conversation is not active, as the intercom takes a higher priority. If you wish to listen to music/FM radio during a conversation, this can be only be done at this time by having your devices in DMC intercom mode and creating a PACK between your devices – but since DMC intercom mode is intended for a large group of riders, music sharing is not possible in DMC mode. My partner as Pillion will rather ride in silence than try and retune the radio on the road (as discussed the RDS is pretty much useless). - have since learned of easy to access auto tune function... - You can use the Cardo SmartSet application on your phone which can be used to control the PACKTALK device which is easier for some customers. No good once on road.... - Your right speaker wire contains the FM antenna if you are using the factory provided speakers. To achieve the best FM reception, make sure the wire is routed directly over your head within the lining of the helmet as opposed to being around the back portion of the helmet. Also, please route the wire in an “S” shape if any excess wire exists after routing the speaker wire properly. - You can view our mini guide for the scala rider PACKTALK, which is an interactive guide that provides details on almost every function of the device. This can be found here: http://cardosystems.com/external/miniguides/Miniguide_En/index.html.

  9. Except when your Other Half (OH) is on the back, she is not impressed: 1) thinks you will drop her of the back, 2) thinks your doing it to impress said Attractive Member of Opposite Sex (AMOS), 3) thinks you are trying to get rid of her to pick up said AMOS, Even without achieving any of the above, I find bruised ribs are a common occurrence. Plus getting it up after is not appreciated particularly when you tell your OH is gorgeous she, should just dresses the same as AMOS ....

  15. Not used it enough to notice about how easily it goes off but mom me is now a [strikeout]screamer[/strikeout] disc lock. I think I'm the 12 months I have had it if I replaced the battery's it would cost me £1 a use.
  16. Note to self: When on forum don't upset the Mod's Other note to self: Hogg's is female. Hoping Mods don't hold grudges... Better say congratulations and be nice Further note to self must not type what I am thinking

  18. We went for Packtalk Duo worth it? Presently away for couple of days on bike in the snow :/ Once back home if you went I will give better review. To save money I would not consider Smartpack it would be very easy to get to 4 riders. We have that problem coming to us one couple bought SmartPack. Once we get 5 of us out together....
  19. The bit my misses hated most when she started going Pillion, females go up a out 3-5 sizes for motorbike gear... You can imagine how they feel about that
  20. I am with TC1474 "I don't care..." often seem to follow with "There are worse things happening in the world", "look at whats happening in Syria"... Having worked in places where life is cheap and people will take/ do because they "need it" or have "no choice". Eventually you get the feeling if they stopped to care they would not be "in need" or "have to" as much... An apology a little "lip service" goes a long way even if he said fair enough wont do it again, knowing full well he will. The clip would of never travelled as far as it has. Sorry deserves all he gets. Will be interested to see how public this goes, certainly arrived on my Facebook today. It seems the Sun have got hold of it.... https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2816918/doc-martin-star-martin-clunes-smirks-i-dont-care-when-caught-parking-flash-bmw-car-in-supermarket-motorcycle-bay/

    Vietnam

I never hired there but started riding there on scooters. If it was me I would hire what's available locally and find my own way, I may of got lucky in my time there. A friend who lives in Thailand commented he seen people loose days with breakdown because of waiting for parts for unusual bikes. Had they of a local bike they could of been on the road in short time. Make sure your insured and the rest comes down to luck and making the best of the adventure.
