I am with you on this, I spent 20 years working at sea and packing seriously depresses me. I came up with 3 solutions: 1) Never unpack live out of your bag (fine for short stays). 2) Pack 1 piece at a time, Oh I will need this on this trip pile it all up and then you just have to bag at last minute. 3) Pack in the last minute just forget about it and leave it till last second. I can pack for 2 months in 5 minutes if pushed* * This technique came into good stead during my divorce, my X wife arranged it so I could remove nothing form the house until 24 hours before I went to sea for 3 months. My life worldly possessions that day could all fit in 1 single garage including the landrover discovery (she was still trying to take that so I put it out of sight), Except 1 x 32kg bag (seafares allowance I could fly with that) and an empty bank account. It saved me living out of the car like most in that situation

Good prices if your confident on a bike already and can be certain of passing each first time.... My other half is thinking of learning to ride we are looking at £1200 but that includes unlimited lessons CBT, 1 test on Mod1 and Mod2. Any resits you have to pay for yourself, she is not very confident on a bike so I am thinking this is a good deal. Not trying to negative but how much does it cost you if you fail? It is to easy to fail either due to having a "bad day" or exam nerves.

I am in the phone Camp hard to say which is correct Sat Nav, I have not used Garmin recently. On the phone I prefer TomTom to CoPilot (both can be used without internet) if I am out for a fun ride (its more user friendly IMHO). If going form A to B for a reason its Google maps.

Looks interesting, how/where did you mount yours? On the Trophy O used a bolt for the fairing and on the FZ6 I used the wing mirror mount. I like them as my phone needs no additional cases and I can chare on the road. My only complaint is that when I have left the bike in the rain the USB cable has got wet and its not been able to charge. If it matters to you remove USB cable I am just to laze

If you trust your phone to be rain proof, easy cheap quick and has charging. My advice would be shop for a brand name 125 at a good price or a good none brand name at a real give away price... They can be found if you look hard enough. The Brand name will not loose money and the none brand name is not worth selling, miles under your bum help allot.

Last time I had this issue they gave me a free Cargo net and as importantly my misses was out at work.. She only realised I had spare boots when she went Pillion and I "happened" to have a spare set :D

Joeman first time I only used torque wrench to as a gauge and stopped by feel. This time I went up to 90Nm on torque wrench will check it in a few days. Most jobs I don't use torque wrench for but when I know there are known issues I tend to it takes no effort....

I had read about the stripping nuts so I torqued to about 75Nm (what did you do yours to in the end?) which "felt" as tight as I wanted to go, I then ensured the washer was WELL bent. What bugs me is I had just returned from a particularly spirited ride. As I have also just changed the clutch cable I now wonder what I could of got wrong doing that...

I would say its really not difficult..... but I changed mine and it all seemed fine. Then I heard unusual noise and checked front sprocket, and the securing nut and washer have gone New nut arrives tomorrow and I will double check torque and securing. In my defence a little googling and I am not the only one to of had that issue with an FZ6.

I did mine through a different center to the one I did my CBT with. I was difficult (nothing new there) and could not fit in with any of the regular lessons. I practiced quite a bit U turns fig 8's, emergency stops , hazard avoidance, lifesavers etc before on my 125. Then when I went for an initial assessment he cut a day out of my training. The instructor also would not book Mod 1 & 2 on same day incase of a fail on Mod 1. I passed Mod 1 then next day was ride to center pass exam and I was done...

Its a tough call, the Packtalk has the ability to connect to other headsets and we have done it. It also has DMC which can connect up to 15 riders a couple of times in theory there are about 8 of us but that ha not happened yet. The bit I fight with is the DMC bridge where in theory I can bridge in another set in DMC Mode. We also like the Dual audio streaming even if its not without its limitations. I cannot fault Cardos customer support, even if I am challenging the capabilities of the unit... Most people it seems dont expect to expect the unit to use most of its features at once Why Can't I have DMC bridge DMC chat and Music sharing at the same time (you can have music but not music sharing)... I ahve no experiacne of using the Sena so cannot comment on that one...

I went with Scala Packtalk we wanted the ability to have music AND intercom simultaneously. It has allot more functionality. Reason for going Scala they claim to be water proof unlike Sena. I have mixed views on how the set yes its good, but tis not without its limitations.... Then if on a budget I would not discount these at 1/2 the price, at some speed coms are going to become difficult. Lyme Regis area then? I know when some one is choosing to be that vague about there location its great fun guessing.... Lyme is the middle of the Jurasic coast, so my guess was further East than that. IN my case the New Forest seems to satisfy most, if pushed I normally give a Neighbouring Village name just to keep some anonymity. It can make you look like a stalker though, as some one pointed out when I could say where there Profile pictures where taken by recognising the scenery then guessing where they lived within a couple of streets.... Even thought the town they gave was alittle distance away

There is a small friendly if eclectic group of us that meet on a Thursday with various levels of experience, quite commonly there are more females than men. We all ride at different rates and paces and generally don't take ourselves to seriously, you would be welcome as long as you enjoy a laugh...

You try it as an occasional visitor bloody nightmare, you cannot even rely on following other bikes as some seem to know where the bus lane cameras are and hop in and out.... As someone seems to travel to the same places only occasional you get quite perplexed by rules re motorbike bus lanes and the other thats as bad motorbike parking So you can ride round a town & its carparks trying to find parking, I know there's various apps but once out of big cities they do not show them all. Example I have been visiting my my local Lidl for months the other day when I was in the car it was busy in the back corner of the carpark I found dedicated motorbike parking! The tyre marks over it says its regularly driven over by cars cutting the corner, so its not a space I will be using... Trying to find the parking in advance is no better... Look on the bright side the Camera vans will be taking a brake for the next month, they might as well wait until the new fines come in and they can earn some real money

Keep your Android just as a navigation tool? unless its a work phone... I made this list to apps I have tried, i vaguely try and keep it up to date. I only have android but I guess most will be available on Apple... When using google I often just set it to a halfway point along my route then give it new destination. I have found the Tomtom app very good, particularly when used in conjunction with my drive which you can down load GPX files from which I think you can put into co pilot. https://mydrive.tomtom.com/en_gb/

Agree with http://www.megamotorcyclestore.co.uk/ in Swindon Also possibly (I have not been to yet), http://www.fowlers.co.uk/index.php When I did my CBT they had gloves I could use, I agree with getting the gear right but its learning whats right for you.... Keep an eye out in bargain buckets... Don't be disheartened if you find yourself wearing strange size gloves, I have 1 set of gloves size medium & 3xl and a couple of pairs in the middle fit means everything, size very little. When it comes to clothing it is normal to find that you go up a size or 2 or even 3....

Sadly I can be quite geeky about nav apps I was just spreading knowledge .

Make sure you download the area you want before you go (I have 2 set up that cover most of the south of england they automatically update over Wifi). Then it works better although when it sees the internet it may well re route you, because of traffic...

I have borrowed your review to update the Sat Nav App review thread I set up. Tomtom My drive on your computer is free and can set routes of windy hilly flat etc and can be downloaded as Gpx files if you dont have the app..
